The Day of the Jackal S01
The Day of the Jackal [trailer]
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. He soon meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe.
There were a few things that bugged me. Like the coincidence of Alison's daughter dying in police custody. And the coincidence of Nuria recognising him at the flower market in a passing car.
And small details like that the rifle was not pointing downwards from the 16th floor during the assassination in Germany.
Because they wanted to stretch the season I can understand the need to add more story strands. But I would've preferred fewer personal problems of the main protagonists. Especially the existence of Nuria's brother was distracting. Without them it would've been possible to tell the story in eight episodes.
Despite those complaints, it's an entertaining watch. Much of it has to do with the two main leads.
More photos from Pasión Vega’s Birthday party a week ago in Cádiz Spain. In her Instagram post the singer revealed why Eddie was in Cádiz. His trip was part of his preparation for his role in The Day of the Jackal.
She wrote (quick translation): ‘It has been a week since I shared unforgettable moments with unique people... on my birthday. Life gave me the gift of being able to share it with many friends and with part of the team of the next series that my dear friend Ronan Bennett has written, and to advance in the work came to Cádiz for a few days, its magnificent director Brian Kirk, Jeremy, and the dazzling Eddie Redmayne … really Eddie Redmayne is one of the most special people I have ever met: attentive, observant, elegant … so warm, and bright. We will never forget any of the attendees, the art that Anabel Rivera, David Palomar, Miguel Angel Heredia, Claudia Cruz, and to the touch Alejandro Mendoza guitarrista gave us in abundance, in that special place where you can see the best sunsets and eat wonderfully in Tirabuzon Cádiz ... thank you to everyone for these moments that remain tattooed forever in the memory. 🎁❤️🥰...’
In the second photo, Eddie is with the celebrated singer and series director Brian Kirk, and screenwriter Ronan Bennett.
I look for you everywhere, Inès, and know I will never find you.
