Basement Brings “Beside Myself” To The Bay

To celebrate their latest record Beside Myself, the Ipswich quintet played a short and personal in-store set at Amoeba Music in San Francisco, CA before their sold out show at the Rickshaw Stop on Oct. 15. The record store was full of eager fans who enjoyed acoustic performances of three songs, including “Disconnect.” Basement vocalist Andrew Fisher mentioned that guitarist Ronan Crix bought his first vinyl record at Amoeba when he was a teenager.

Basement captured the punk rock scene with their first full length I Wish I Could Stay Here back in 2011. Basement is a band unafraid to push their musical boundaries on Beside Myself, exploring a mellow rock sound while maintaining their heartfelt melancholic songwriting. The song “Stigmata” in particular channels Hum’s space rock vibes.
