Backstory;
Ronan is the oldest child of his two parents, who are prominent members of their community and successful in their careers. His father, head nurse and operations coordinator at the Midlands Central Hospital. His mother, a professor at a prestigious university for magic.
Ronan is, at first, an exceptional young magic user. He begins to harness magic from the moon, which is rare for magic users. As he grows older, he begins to suffer academically and burns out, losing his drive and having a hard time performing in the capacity he used to. His younger sisters begin to grow up, getting amazing grades and receiving the approval of their parents.
When the reader meets Ronan, the Magi Midlands where he resides are attacked in the night. He runs, as his parents tell him to, looking back and seeing his sisters attempting to escape from the top floor of their home. Filled with fear, he runs, leaving them all behind as he travels into the dangerous and vast Verdant Woodlands.
