Chloe was happy to hear Carlin ask if he could help her cook. Though she had already finished making dinner for Elijah, or rather was nearly finished, she figured they could make something else since the oven was already on. “I know just what we can do.” 

She took a moment or two to flit around the kitchen, gathering ingredients and depositing them on the counter as she went. Finally, everything was laid out. Flour, sugar, butter, baking powder. She turned back to face him. “I think Elijah will appreciate a little dessert. Come, you can mix the sugar and the butter.” She offered, beckoning him closer before setting up the measuring cups and measuring out the needed ingredients.

It takes a LOT to get Carlin to yell so we know shits going down in the kitchen xD

I just had this sudden image of Liam standing on the counter and Carlin starting off just like “Liam, please get off the counter” and Liam ignoring him and Carlin getting increasingly more anxious about it, bc there’s dishes and other shit on the counter, so he yells a little, and Claire yelling back “HE LIKES TO FEEL TALL!” And Liam accidentally knocking over a bowl of fruit or something and everyone just going oh shit

and Chloe at the door just sighing softly and Penny gently patting her face.

The smile on her lips couldn’t be stopped, stretching as far as possible simply at the sight of her son. The soft display of affection only made it better. “How are you, darling? It seems like forever since I last saw you.” Perhaps it was an exaggeration, perhaps she was spending too much time working, but oh, how she’d missed spending time with her son.

“Only three? Then I suppose I cannot take all my kids. Alright, then I suppose I would have to choose Connor, Corwin, and Cassius. They’re all very good company and I enjoy being with them. Even if they are infuriating to each other and to me at times.” Her LED turned yellow. “On second thought... perhaps having all three of them in one car isn’t such a good idea.” Something was bound to go wrong with those three if they were stuck together for too long. Not to mention her own stress levels would be none too low with the way Connor and Corwin bicker.
