PJP MIXTAPES: Back in 2017, trumpeter Matthew Stewart developed a musical suite inspired by his research @freelibrarymuic/@freelibrary for our Mysterious Traveler Concert Series. It explored the overlooked history of the post-Civil War, Reconstruction era and in particular, he delved into the betrayed promise of the Freedman's Bureau. Stewart was joined by musicians Ron Sutton: Alto Sax, Dexter Koonce: Keyboards, Ehud Guy: Bass and Aaron Walker: Drums.
