I need more people to get on the version of Simon who absolutely cannot STAND being alone and trails after Grace or Rocky like a shadow all the time. I need the Simon who is quietly clingy, who holds onto Grace's shirt and gets in his space because he's been alone without kindness for so long before this absolute angel of a man saved his life and he can't be more than a few feet away from him anymore.

I want Simon who is always seeking touch in some way or another.

And I want Grace to be not only open to it, but to actively crave it himself. It was just him and Rocky for so long and while he loves his best friend more than anything in the world, it's not the same to have a barrier between you when you touch.

So of course Grace also seeks it out. Of course he's happy to share the bed and to hold and be held. He's happy to have someone hold his hand while they walk and sit so close their shoulders bump.

Just. Give me the clingy, soft version of bloodymary too!

Mm-hmm having some thoughts about Grace and his relationship to his trauma/PTSD.

He strikes me as the kind of person to diminish his suffering because other people have had it "worse". Grins and bears it because, hey, he's alive, right? Nothing to complain about.

"I can't have PTSD, Rocky watched his crew die and spent 46 years alone before he met me."

"I can't be that traumatized, Adrian waited literal decades mourning a mate they couldn't know was alive."

And if you factor in Simon (which I do often I'm very bloodymary pilled): "He went through so much more than I ever did any trauma I have is peanuts compared to that."

And I know it drives Rocky up the wall, because he's seen the way Grace's heart races when he's forgotten something important, or how he shakes when he needs his blood drawn. But every time he brings it up Grace obfuscates.

So I'm sitting here making up drivinglessons AUs for fun because I'm obsessed with them and I was like

"Oh what about one where Driver and Grace were friends as kids for a few months and then Grace moved away. Years later when Grace is a teacher back in Cali Driver decides to become an auto shop teacher just to see his friend again"

and I realized that I just narumitsu'd my drivinglessons

Rotating the idea of touch-starved Grace who didn't realize how bad it was until Simon got blipped onto the ship and had settled in properly and suddenly Grace is standing there looking at his new friend and he just starts sobbing because all he can think about is how much he wants a hug

So would anyone fuck with a BloodyMary WTNV AU or am I screaming into the Glow Cloud alone

Because like eccentric freak of nature Ryland Grace who does the radio and his botanist boyfriend Simon who thinks this town must have some sort of scientific explanation (it doesn't) and is confused about it just sounds like fun to me

Rocky is Grace's best friend (ofc) and Adrian is one of Simon's coworkers and they're not rock-shaped but they're definitely not human still

My second work for the @aceattorneybingo, filling the prompt Cozy: Comfort Food. I had a lot of fun with this one and it wasn't rushed like the Christmas fic lol
