Flippen #Hell! . . So, top of #Rooiberg Pass clocked just shy of 50 Degrees Celsius today during the @transcapemtb MTB Experience. #Stage2 started off with golden light from #Chandelier Game Farm and the temperatures started red-lining right from the word go ☀️ . . Remote back roads and farm tracks tripped 98km over 1500m ascent, all the way over one of SA's most rugged passes and into the arid & gorgeous @Rooiberg Conservancy. This is a tough day at the #mtb office in any riders' book, and there are a few good stories to tell, especially from a few of the European guys who find the acclimatisation a tad tough 🔥 . . #DieOom had a jol along the first section of the route riding the classy @SpecializedZA #Levo, but retreated to the air-conditioned interior of the @volvocars #xc90 as the #KleinKaroo sauna intensified. Despite the extreme heat, the riders were treated to ice cold #HeyJoeBrewingCo & #Bavaria beers, and of course a dip in the blue swimming pool 🏊 . . And in the end, this is exactly how this incredible 'Bike Journey across the Cape' should unfold.
