The headpiece is the Medium Dragonscale Headdress. No shoulder piece. Chest is the Krytan Rogue Chestpiece. Legs are the Raven Leggings. Gloves are the Evergreen Gloves. And the boots are the Oneiros-Spun Medium Boots. Backpiece is the Graceful Bladed Wings Backpack

It is a very gemstore-item-dependent outfit, but it achieves the bird look so well

4. Do they have allergies, intolerances, weird reactions or dislikes so strong they might as well be any of the above? Are they also yours?

Bryn is a really hardy individual, so no allergies or intolerances that I could pull out of a hat. Dislikes, sure. Seafood -- not fish! or shellfish! -- food pulled from the salt water, be it fish or seaweed or whatever. She can't stand the slightly briny taste (real or perceived).

It's sort of mine, too? I don't really have many notable allergies or intolerances or super concrete dislikes. I do, however, love seafood.

6. What is THE thing(s) that inspired you to make the character? Would they like it?

Bryn actually just spontaneously existed, being my second GW2 character to be made. She started more as a shell that slowly developed into a fully fleshed OC, so there's not much in the way of outward inspiration. Her actual depth of character began when I decided that Glaw needed a sibling. She was sitting there in my character roster, without much of a backstory outside being a Priory nerd. They looked similar, so she got tacked onto Glaw's story. That started the ball rolling, and she developed into the sarcastic, goofy, hardy big sister she is now -- and still is a big Priory nerd.

I think she'd find the source of her inspiration being Glaw's family very endearing. Unlike Glaw, she's never been one too focused on personal glory, so she'd be okay with being a side note in another's tale

9. Have you ever discarded a piece of lore/characterization for them? Have you reused it elsewhere or are you still keeping it in the backburner?

Not to my knowledge! I don't cut pieces of character lore often, preferring to work them into their personal story somehow (unless it's really out of character to their current canon)

3. What's the silliest nickname they were given? Is it in-story or just how you call them?

I'm not going to lie, Glaw has exactly 0 nicknames, silly or otherwise. I don't think they've ever been called by anything other than their name or title

7. Have they changed much since their first concept? Could they be considered the same person? If not, would they get along with each other?

Oh, immensely. But they are still the same person, because their first concept was just their history. They started out as an antagonist, and an antagonist they were; they just had enough help and willpower to become a someone regarded as a hero

10. How would you sum them up in one phrase? How would they react to reading it?

An amnesiac cloaked in the set-dressings of greatness.

They'd find the phrase humiliating, indignifying beyond definition, because they believe it to be true. Not even deep down. They wear their title of commander like a costume, a second skin, but if you scratch even just a little beneath the surface, you'd find someone who's terrified everyone will figure out it's (mostly) a charade. Even if, in reality, it's not true. A heaping dose of imposter's syndrome, if you will

She's actually another that doesn't really have any nicknames sdfhksd. A lot of my characters have nicknames, but apparently not these two. I guess she's been called Rookie before, but not really canonically

Rook was my first GW2 character (and thus why she has the name she does, at the time of creation circa 2019 was more of a self-insert), so she was less of a concept and more of a progression. Since, she has evolved into a separate OC, but character-wise, she really has not changed.

She has always been a hard-headed, direct figure who carries the weight of the world out of duty more than anything else, even with a growing grudge against it. She is too proud to change, too afraid of it

10. How would you sum them up in one phrase? How would they react to reading it?

Five feet and six inches of whoop-ass.

She would have a laugh at the description, play it off saying she's not that aggressive over things

1. What's their voice like? (Voice claim and/or describe it)

I actually like their in-game voice as a close equivalent of their voice! (fem norn, Claudia Christian ily). In my head, it's maybe a bit deeper/rougher, but overall, pretty close in that dry, flat intonation that really bites with emotion in stressful moments

6. What is THE thing(s) that inspired you to make the character? Would they like it?

Ooh! Glaw's original inspiration was actually as a villain/antagonist character for my old commander, Rook, during Icebrood Saga! (How far they've come...)

As far as outside inspiration, characters like Connor from D:BH, the Mandalorian, etc... characters that start as antagonist/morally gray to the narrative and have to work to become heroes

8. What's the first important bit of lore you came up with for them? Did it ever change?

First bit of lore was their ice arm and Dragon-induced amnesia! It's an important part of their character, and although their Jormag corruption has since melted away, it left behind scars that still effect them, both physically and mentally

Question I'm assuming your name is Rook as in the bird and not the chess piece? (from jackdaw being there as well) I see people named after the chess piece more often so I'm curious lol

Originally yeah it was for the bird! Now I like both definitions of the word so I will say it's based on either the bird or the chess piece. Nice to meet another Rook tho!

hey! while I don't think AO3 is going anywhere, and I believe much of the stuff circulating is due to fear-mongering, in the instance that the site ever does go down permanently, I won't just disappear into the internet

if something like that happens, I'll probably start posting my regular fics to this blog, or I'll make a tumblr blog dedicated to my fics. Either way, there'll be information posted on this blog in the event something like that happens.
