Room 13 (Triskaidekaphobia)
“This explains how you didn’t remember a thing.” Maat said after she took a small break to get some water.
“What, who were those people?” Sugar asked.
“I mean, There’s no harm in telling you.” Osiris said. “Certain people don’t really like the Hellkeep and the people it brings in.”
(Who could’ve seen that coming, a place where horrors roam free and get a 5-scream room. Absolutely no idea why people would hate that.)
“So, they attacked me because I rent a room in the Hellkeep?” Sugar asked again.
“Pretty much, yeah.” Maah said.
“And you rent a room there?” Nepthyhs asks her brother.
“Not by choice.” Osiris defended himself.
(He only pays every day, He’s a god. He can do whatever he wants, but no. ‘He doesn’t have a choice.’)
“Okay, so I get attacked.” Sugar reasoned. “Why am I getting arrested for murder?” She asked Maat.
“Well, an eye-witness reported seeing you burn a body in the street.” Maat said.
“What, I didn’t burn a body. The eye-witness is lying. I only burned their clothes. Not the body.” Sugar said sarcastically. “I didn’t kill anyone.”
Maat rolled with her eyes. “I’ll have my work with you I see.”
“Osiris, Could we have a word?” Maat asked the god.
“Sure.” The green skinned man said when he made his way to the door to go outside.
“Why did you ask me to work with her? She’s a fricking lunatic.” Maat said furious when she closed the door behind her.
“I asked you because, like you always say yourself, you’re the best lawyer Hell has ever seen. Sugar needs you, not the money Lukas can provide, not the entry that his title can get him. She needs someone that will 100% get her out of the Justice Department.” Osiris reasoned with Maat.
“Well, she’ll need to keep her mouth shut in court if she wants to survive this.” Maat said firmly.
“And I’m sure she will. She can be responsible if she wants.” Osiris reacted.
When he turned around, he saw Sugar trying to poke Nepthyhs . No matter how hard his sister tried to get away from her. Sugar was always faster.
“Responsible. Yeah, I see that.” Maat said after letting go of a sigh.
“Okay, nevermind that. She’ll be quiet in court. We’ll figure something out.” Osiris said calmly. Reassuring himself more than Maat.
“You know the fact you blessed her makes this more complicated than it needed to be right?” Maat said after looking away from the window.
“I know, I know. I didn’t want to, but Bastet forced my hand.” Osiris defended himself.
“Can’t you break it somehow?” Maat asked.
“Not without breaking the curse placed upon Apophis.” Osiris reacted.
“Why did you tie it to that curse?” Maat asked surprised.
“How did you even do that?” She continued surprised.
“I don’t know. I must’ve done something wrong while cursing them.” Osiris said.
“Could you maybe come back in!” Nephthys yelled. When both gods turned around, they saw Sugar on Nephthys back, poking her cheeks, ears and nose.
Osiris ran back in as quick as he could, already trying to unhook Sugar and his sister. Maat just sighed and slowly made her way back in.
