|| Cora & Derek
Cora had known Derek forever. Or at least it certainly felt like it had been forever at this point. He had been her older brothers roommate in college, the two becoming fast friends after their random assignment. She had been 10 when they first met. Twelve years later, and the pair still saw eachother, though much less than when he was coming home with Alex over breaks and to visit during the summer.
Derek had been her first crush, when she was twelve. He'd been her first sloppy kiss when she was sixteen, and he was twenty four, with Cora shoving him against the garage wall outside and planting her mouth on his before he knew what had hit him. As she'd grown up she'd branched out there, and found herself getting over him, her first 'love'. The thought was almost laughable at this point.
In fact, they hadn't seen each other since she was 19, and in the past three years she had grown a lot at college. Now a more mature woman, she was less concerned with guys, and more concerned about living life, becoming successful, and having fun.
Even with this almost carefree attitude, she still felt a pang of nerves when Alex told her that Derek was going to be at his place that night. It was her last summer break, before graduate school started, and she was going to live with Alex, and work at their parents floral company to earn some money.
Pulling up to the curb she put her car in park, and ran her fingers through her hair, giving it some body. She touched up her lip stick, and smiled at herself. She still had a right to impress her first crush didn't she? Even if he was thirty, and probably dating. She laughed and rolled her eyes at herself, then made her way to the door with a box, figuring Alex could move the rest of her stuff in later. Opening it she called to Alex and Derek, who weren't in sight but could be heard, "I'm home y'all!"
