There is no world in which damage control exists for Dream anymore. He literally cannot control the damage because his personhood was so effectively slandered by a group of 4chan kiwifarm redditors that to this day people still think he physically sexually assaulted children despite there being zero evidence provided. It doesn't matter that everyone admitted to faking the screenshots or the accounts being used to slander him were so obviously fake accounts of Dream's, because no one ever bothered to look closer. Millions of queer people think it's okay to call him a faggot derogatorily because this guy deserves it right? Death threats and constant doxxing so bad the FBI had to get involved and the outright, blatant, vitriolic homophobia. Physical assaults and horrible rumors and every professional connection using these to build there career off of someone actively being targeted by some of the worst groups online all while maintaining enough distance to also profit off of the same groups doxxing their "friend". Sure they would have been popular without Dream, but no one can say they would have been as big without the spectacle of standing next to the guy getting publicly shamed and doxxed and harassed.
It's one thing to not like someone, it's another to stream the person's doxx. It's one thing to hate someone, it's another to use their family to make some of your most popular videos while you are actively joking about them being a pedophile.
There is no damage control. There is no undoing this. There is nothing Dream can say, do, or post to make anyone who hates him any less because he is your lolcow. He's your laughing stock. A patreon exclusive podcast is a drop in the water to the millions of people who still think he's a pedophile, to the millions who know he isn't but still think it's funny to say he is, to the millions of you who laugh about calling him a faggot, a freak, a pedophile, a degenerate. There is no damage that can be controlled when you have so effectively removed someone's personhood that he will always be your exception when it comes what is acceptable treatment of someone. Everyone could denounce what they said about him and say it was all fake, Dream can release every piece of evidence that clears his name, walk a thousand miles repenting, and you would all still say "Yeah but he's still an awful person so".
