The root beer marinade gives these Root Beer Chicken Wings a unique flavor. They are both sweet and savory. They are soft and flavorful after being pressure cooked, which makes them a great starter or main dish for any event.
Ingredients: 2 lbs chicken wings. 1 cup root beer. 1/2 cup soy sauce. 1/4 cup ketchup. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon ginger, grated. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. Salt and pepper to taste. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Green onions for garnish optional. Sesame seeds for garnish optional.
Instructions: For the marinade, mix root beer, soy sauce, ketchup, onion powder, salt, pepper, minced garlic, and ginger in a bowl. Spread out the chicken wings in a shallow dish or zip-top bag. Pour two thirds of the marinade over them. Put away the last third for later. Put the wings in the fridge for at least two hours, or better yet, overnight. Seal the bag or cover the dish. Put the chicken wings in the pressure cooker and set it to "Saute." Add vegetable oil and brown the wings for two to three minutes on each side. Make sure the wings are covered evenly with the marinade you saved before adding it to the pressure cooker. The pressure cooker should be set to "Poultry" or "High Pressure," and the lid should be locked. Cook for 10 minutes. After you're done, let the pressure drop naturally for 5 minutes and then do a quick release. Open the lid slowly and carefully, then move the wings to a serving platter. You can add sliced green onions and sesame seeds as a garnish if you want to. Enjoy the root beer chicken wings while they're still hot.
