I hate...hate hate hate that to unlock a character you have to completely sacrifice a run. I wish there was a more specific trigger than just randomly “ope, here’s the portal the the sacrifice dimension, hope you didn’t think this run could go longer because I know you haven’t unlocked this character yet”

I’d probably feel less salty about it if the mercenary felt...worth it to me. I can handle most of the characters, even if the engineer is my favorite, but the Mercenary just feels...dull. His skills have very little punch to them outside of the third strike of the basic attack, and his utter lack of range makes him pretty much not viable for me to use in solo play because he can’t deal with the Wisps unless they decide to get REAL up close and personal, but at their speeds, have likely knocked ya down to half health by the time they reach jump slash range.

Oh well, at least I know I’m getting better and more comfortable with Engi here. The portal opened on my second trip to Rallypoint Delta in the run and I had a harder time with the randomspawn clay pot than the three Imp Overlords that spawned from the teleporter.
