Thinking of Rafael in one of his pink ties holding an Easter basket while helping Mila search for eggs. You are looking on with a big smile as you nurse Ben and Rory. Love this family you created.
Thank you so much! ❤️Your comments and support for my writing and my little Barba family mean so much to me! Also Yes yes yes to ALL of this!
Rafael would be chasing Mila all over the place, trying to keep up with his daughter as she searches for eggs. Every time she finds one, Mila holds it up triumphantly, jumping up and down, showing you and Rafael her latest find to add to the ever growing collection in her basket.
“Good job baby!” You exclaim from the sidelines before looking down at Ben and Rory. Both babies are milk drunk, snuggled up to your chest. Ben has a tiny pink tie on just like his Papi while Rory and Mila are wearing matching Easter dresses. Glancing back up, you lock eyes with your husband and smile.
After the hunt, you host a big dinner for all of your friends and family. The centerpiece for your table are the eggs Mila dyed with you and Rafael earlier (most of the dye ended up on her hands, the little girl went to school for a week with purple and pink fingers). Mila stuffs her face full of candy while Rory and Ben are more interested in putting the plastic eggs in their mouths than the actual chocolate.
Once dinner is over and everyone leaves, you notice how unusually quiet it is in the house. Walking back into the living room, you come across a sight that melts your heart. Rafael wearing bunny ears, balancing Rory and Ben on each arm with Mila sitting on his lap. All four of them fast asleep. You quickly grab your phone and snap several pictures. Rafael wakes up, gifting you a sleepy smile. You kiss the top of his head, tugging the bunny ears off before the two of you carry your children upstairs to bed. With everyone tucked in, you and your husband stand in the hallway, holding each other close. He quietly hums a familiar song, the two of you swaying back and forth, sharing a peaceful perfect moment on that beautiful Easter Sunday.
