Rosa Verloop: Artist Study
Rosa verloop uses tights to create humanoid sculptures by stuffing them with cotton and wool and sowing them to create human features and wrinkles. She often also uses pins for a better effect.
I find her work quite interesting and unusual. I never seen anyone sculpt like this and I feel its a very original way of creating 3D sculptures. Although I find her work quite interesting I don’t think its aesthetically pleasing. I think she goes way overboard with all the wrinkles and is making her stuff ugly looking on purpose. But I also feel that if she didn’t do that her pieces wouldn’t really more than stuffed tights, so through giving it shape and interesting textures she’s making her work more creative and one of a kind, but either way personally I am not really a fan.
