Featured Friday - Dogfish Head
HEY PALS!
Can I just start out by saying how stoked I am to be doing this for you all with my bff Theresa? Very.
Every Friday here on Bread Breakers we're planning on featuring some kind of booze we're jamming on and very appropriately titled this series "Featured Friday." Boom. Instant blog cred. I will probably blog more about beer and Theresa more about cocktails with gin... but no one is really keeping score.
Anyway -- by the time you all see this post, it will be my birthday, and I will probably be eating pancakes and celebrating having lived a quarter of a century. To further the celebration, I am going to the great state of Delaware and visiting Dogfish Head Brewery and Brew Pub and trying all the beers.
Here is a list of the top 5 that I'm psyched about trying (in no particular order):
1. Rosabi Wasabi. And. Beer. How do you *not* try this.
2. Festina Peche Our main man Sam Calagione describes this as being tart and sour, but not too tart and sour, letting the peach in this speak through. That's all I could ever ask for in a fruit beer.
3. Right Woodsy The description for this is a spruce-infused pale ale with a malty backbone. Yum!
4. 60/90/120-Minute IPA I'd be stupid if I didn't try any one of these on tap. This is what DFH is known for and does extremely well.
5. Positive Contact From the website -> "A positive combination of Fuji cider, slow-roasted farro, a bit of cayenne and fresh cilantro." Sign me UP.
Follow along with me later this evening (and all weekend) as I try these beers and more on UNTAPPED at MHarka... if you're into that kind of thing.
"Meet You at Midnight" by Julianna Barwick // Rosabi EP (Out 6.3.14 via Dead Oceans)
In one of the stranger collaborations to come down the line in recent memory, ethereal pop artist, Julianna Barwick has linked up with Dogfish Head Brewery to create a new EP built around sounds created during the brewing process, as well as on a new beer itself. "Meet You at Midnight" is the first release from the forthcoming Rosabi EP, and it's pure Barwick. Haunting otherworldly vocal samples layered atop field recording to create ghostly lullabies. For more information on the EP and the collaboration, check out Dead Oceans. The new EP drops early next month, but in the meantime, get lost in "Meet You at Midnight".
Julianna Barwick's “Meet You At Midnight” from her upcoming EP, "Rosabi", named after a beer she’s created in colaboration with craft brewery Dogfish Head. "Rosabi", the album, drops on June 3rd, via Dead Oceans.
