despite everything that happened between them,   there’s still a part of chad that will come running when audrey says she needs help.   that’s why he just drove for two hours to the enchanted forest to come get her  ---  not because she demanded it,   but because she asked for help.   chad has tried to help in the best way he knows how,   bringing himself,   his baby blue camaro,   and two milkshakes:   one vanilla for him,    one strawberry for her.    he straightens as soon as he sees her,   previously having been leaning against the side of his car,   and flashes her a small smile.   ‘   hi.   ’    it’s awkward,   he realises this,   but he’d rather it be awkward than her be alone.    ‘   brought you a milkshake.   cherry.   your favourite.   ’   with whipped cream and a cherry on top...    act casual,   chadwick.   FT.   @rosaelty​

when  the  barrier  had  dropped  his  veins  felt  like  a  match  had  been  struck  against  them  and  ignited.  so  not  only  had  they  been  keeping  him  locked  up  as  a  prisoner,  but  they’d  also  stolen  what  was  his  birthright  -  his  powers.    now  that  he’s  free,  no  one’s  going  to  stop  him  from  reaching  his  full  potential.   even  if  he  has  to  burn  down  all  of  auradon.  sterling’s  sitting  in  the  backyard  of  gaston  jr’s  party  and  doing  what  was  already  quickly  becoming  a  favorite  pastime  of  his  -  screwing  with  the  royals.   for  a  good  five  minutes  now  he’s  been  using  his  telekinesis  to  yank  the  drink  out  of  this  one  guy’s  hand  and  dangling  it  over  his  head.   a  spiteful  laugh  falls  from  his  lips  as  he  dumps  the  drink  all  over  the  guy’s  date  and  causes  a  fight  between  them.   when  a  hand  comes  down  on  sterling’s  shoulder,  his  eyes  flash  orange  and  fingers  ignite  as  he  turns  towards  the  other.   “  you  want  to  keep  your  hands  to  yourself?   the  smell  of  burning  flesh  would  surely  ruin  this  delightful  get  together  and  we  wouldn’t  want  that,  would  we?  “    ft. @rosaelty

‘   gaston,   ’    aurora huffs,   clearly unimpressed.    she begins to circle him like a predator assessing its prey,    her eyes dark with something indiscernible  ---  is that anger,   or fury,   or venom,   or all three at once?    this is likely the last thing gaston jr. expected at his party tonight,   but here they are.    ‘   didn’t your daddy have enough brains to think up a better name?   or is he that proud of destroying the de bourbon legacy that he has to flaunt it in his own spawn?   ’    she wants to be nice to him,    she wants to find that part of her mother in her that she long buried,    but she can’t.  she knows belle truly loved this man’s father;   she knows that her father is the reason her mother is dead.    aurora has gone through so much that she simply cannot be kind to him as her mother would wish.     ‘    pathetic.   ’    FT.   @rosaelty​

“   i  am  very  sorry  to  interrupt  but  princess  audrey  has  prior  engagements  and  must  leave  now.     ”     she  knows  it’s  not  her  place  to  interrupt,    but  as  soon  as  she’d  heard  one  of  the  interviewers  that  had  swarmed  the  princess  bring  up  maleficent’s  staff  she’d  shot  up  from  her  spot  to  end  it.    her  small  hand  weaves  through  audrey’s  arm  and  links  with  hers,   gently  pulling  the  other  girl  away  from  the  chaos.     “   sorry,   i  know  you  can  handle  yourself  but  i  didn’t  like  where  he  was  going.     are  you  okay?  you  looked  great  out  there.   ”

it’s  not  often  that  gil  shows  his  face  back  at  the  tavern  these  days,     only  coming  by  to  grab  new  clothes  or  see  his  mother  every  so  often.     he’s  here  for  the latter today  but  without  a  phone  he  missed  the  small  detail  of  her  not  being  in  at  the  moment.    he’s  pulled  down  a  chair  from  where  it’s  stacked  on  top  of  the  table  and  helped  himself  to  some  of  the  snacks  hidden  behind  the  bar  when  he  feels  two  heavy  hands  push  down  on  his  shoulders,    then  swiftly  smacking  him  ‘lightly’  on  the  head.     “   oh,   it’s  you.    where’s  mom ?  ”

‘    oh,   um,   sorry,   i’ll just  ---   ’    she makes to move out of the other’s way,    but all she ends up doing is getting in more of his way.   it’s that awkward side shuffle in which both go the wrong way and  ---  wait,   where does she know him from?    aurora frowns in thought.    it’s only once she looks up at the other with an apologetic smile that she realises that she recognises his face...   or at least some part of it.   aurora’s head tilts and she stops trying to move out of his way as she asks,    ‘    do i know you from somewhere?   ’   FT.   @rosaelty​

‘    audrey!   hey.   hi.   um...   ’    yes,   he snuck into her bedroom;   no,   he did not at all announce that he was coming;    yes,   this is kind of concerning behaviour,   especially considering that auroria is about a five hour drive from charmington.    chad will pass this visit off as him simply having good intentions.     he holds a box of chocolates and a card behind his back,   objects he was looking to hide in her drawer,    and he can feel his cheeks reddening as he’s caught red handed by the person he was looking to surprise.    ‘    i...    um,   yeah,   i,   uh...   i have no good explanation for me being here.   ’    FT.   @rosaelty​

‘   honestly,   i was kind of jealous of you,   ’    aurora admits with a sheepish smile,    ‘   because i’d been thinking that just one thing could push me over the edge and force me to do what you did.   i wanted that.   i wanted people to see how bad i could be.   ’   catching up has been good for them;    aurora hasn’t let the rumours circling around about harry and audrey affect her.    why would she?    there are some things aurora has been wanting to say to audrey for a while,   and she thinks now is the perfect time to do that...   what with all these people trying to pull them apart.    audrey’s journey which had been the queen of mean had meant a lot more to aurora than words could say;    hell,    it even made up for being spelled to sleep.    ‘    so for what it’s worth,   you’re not alone.   i was waiting...    i was waiting for somebody to feel how i did,   which sounds mean in retrospect.    but...    it’s so stupid to pretend we’re these perfect little princesses.   we’re not.   i’m violent,  or at least i can be,    and you...   well,   you were wronged.   you wanted revenge.    and that’s okay.   ’   aurora suddenly worries if this is too much,   if this isn’t her place and audrey knows that what she did is okay,   and her face flushes red.    ‘   sorry.   i went on a tangent.   but i  ---  i’ve been wanting to tell you this for a while.    thank you.   you’re part of the reason i feel so much better about being me.    you did what i couldn’t.   ’    FT.    @rosaelty​
