“I’ve missed you too.” He wrapped her up in a hug, not wanting to let her go just in case she left again. “You were gone for way too long. I just can’t believe you’re back.”

Zaiden had been wandering around the outskirts of the palace, just taking a walk to clear his mind, when a sudden twinge in his chest forced him to curl over. His hand immediately clutched the area, threatening to rip through the material of his shirt as his talons crept out of his finger tips. Cursing under his breath, he started walking back to his home, and the pain grew stronger, bringing him to his knees. He started to mutter profanities in several different languages, the pain searing through his body like the entirety of it was on fire, hotter than anything he had ever experienced. Standing, he was able to locate where the pain was coming from on his chest, and froze in his tracks. It couldn’t be.. Zaiden immediately flew back to the palace, the pain lessening the closer he got, to her old room. Perched outside her window, he looked in, not believing his own eyes.

“I think I might be when it comes to you. I’m alright. My sister Margaret was here, but she left a few weeks ago so it’s still just me and Adeline. And I think my hair has gotten longer, I haven’t bothered to get it cut. Yes, you can give me a hug.”

Theo was going to be just like his father, and just like his father’s father, and just like his father’s father’s father. The more he thought about it the more it made his head spin. And, on top of all of that, his mom wouldn’t stop badgering him about marriage. This was the 21st century, he was fairly sure of it, what use would he have in a wife? But with his mom getting to his dad and the two of them threatening to cut him off if he didn’t get his act together, he was kicked into high gear. That was why they had called him into the city. When he visited his parents he normally stayed in a hotel, not wanting to have to spend 24 hours, or sometimes longer than that, hearing them nag or drone on about nonsense. So after their conversation at lunch, he had spent the day walking around the city, pacing the lobby of the hotel, and now finally heading up to his room. 

He took out his key and unlocked he heavy door to his room, closing it behind him and sighing. Just as he continued to walk into the suite and take off his coat, he noticed someone in his bed. “And the reviews said the accommodations were sub par.” He joked, eyeing her suspiciously. “What are you doing?”
