Nah the character that Ian’s in love with is what they’re referring to I think
but even then he fits into the violent hyper masculine closeted stereotype at least as far as i've gotten into the show if there's an arc where that's dispelled then i could definitely be wrong

The things I've learned off of tumblr
Now, it may sound strange at first, so bare with me :) So when I was really submerged in this cultural appropriation thing, I didn't quite get it. I've never had to deal with anything about my culture, being italian and light-skinned. I grew up in southern Wisconsin, not a very cultural diverse area. Anyways, I kept seeing these white people jokes, and I would laugh but also feel upset. I mean, being the joke is never fun, am I right? Anyways, I let it get to me, but when I got off of tumblr, I forgot about it. It wasn't in my head, ever. Because I have never received cultural appropriation, it never affected me outside of my poor little feelings online. Of course, I didn't voice my feelings because it wasn't my place whatsoever. Anyways, it just makes me sad that I let my selfishness change the way I was thinking. Of course it's not my place talking about the feelings of another culture, but if you're getting upset over a couple Internet jokes, turn off your fucking computer, understand the privilege you have, and maybe do some research on cultures that don't have the privilege that you have. Donate your time, donate some money, and learn to live in a way that doesn't hurt or mock others cultures. There's literally no excuse for slurs or racism or cultural appropriation. Not one excuse. Inspired by an anon sent to rosaparking If you don't agree with any of this, I am always willing to learn and better myself, this isn't of course set in stone.
uhhh do you wanna take this outside or what?
