Bad Blood || Rose and Hugo

It had been weeks... no months sense Hugo had utter so much as a word to Rose. To be honest, it was killing him. They’d fought before, but never this bad and never for this long. It was to the point that Hugo didn’t even know what to say, as if too much time had passed for words to fix anything.

They would be heading home soon, which meant they’d be stuck in a confined space with just the two of them and their parents. Surely the ice had to break at some point, surely she’d speak to him just once. It was all he needed, just to know that Rose didn’t hate him then they could go back to being friends and siblings.

It was late, far too late for anyone to be out by the lake, but Hugo had just finished pulling some seaweed from underneath the water’s surface for a specific sticky bomb that exploded in ice cold water, when he noticed a figure sitting out on one of the docks.

“It’s um, a bit late to be wandering around, don’t you think?”
