An act of Sacrilege

In an act of unbelievable pettiness, the terrorist group known as Death Eaters attacked one of the most sacred places to all the population of magical Britain.

The village of Godric's Hollow, stage of the brave resistance and sacrifice of Jaimes Potter and Lillian Potter is no more! In its place, only a flaming crater surrounded by the city’s debris remains. Many of its centenary buildings had been destroyed, and the death toll is on the dozens.

A group of ten black robbed terrorists attacked the bucolic village on the last nigh, targeting not only the bronze statue of the heroes from the magical world but also the non-magical population of the village. In an act of extreme cruelty, some kind of unknown spell or ritual had been performed at the center of the city, blowing up the statue and killing many.

The attack was only stopped due to the interference of unknown wizards and witches, who fought the terrorists, killing one of them. The identity of those heroes is unknown to the aurors, and the chief of the DMLE Amelia Bones asked for them to step forward so they could be rewarded.

The Prophet thanks those.mysterious heroes, and hope they are fine, where ever they are.

One of the terrorists has been captured and finds himself in the DMLE headquarters. The identity of the terrorists has not been divulged.

Lawsuits and the Special Broadcast

Summary: More work, though not all of it is involuntary. Luckily, Rose always has more of her charming radio show host to enjoy Author’s Note: The sequel to ‘Paperwork and Evening Broadcasts’. I’m self-indulgent trash but I’m not the only one who wanted this. That being said, I am so happy to write more of my self insert you guys

“Pleeease, please please please please.”

“No! And that’s final!”

Despite his very clear attempt to walk away from her very quickly, Rose was still determined to keep up with him.

“Come on Jerry, all I’m asking for is a week or two. A basic background check!”

“You know for a fact that we’re not allowed to investigate Black Hat.” Jerry replied, immediately gritting his teeth as if just saying the not-quite-a-man’s name would bring down his wrath, “Or any of his employees, for that matter.”

“What’s the worst that could happen?” Rose taunted, trying a smile.

“Rose I swear to god I will fire you right now.”

Rose stopped, frowning in defeat, and Jerry kept walking without looking back. After a minute, Rose threw her arms up in the air and stomped back to her desk. One of her colleagues spun around in his seat as if he hadn’t been able to hear half the conversation and gave Rose a knowing smile as she muttered obscenities.

“Didn’t go for it, huh?”

“Nope.” Rose growled, dumping files into her desk drawer. The pictures of the green-haired lizard woman and a slightly blurred creature in a top hat leered up at her, but she thrust the drawer closed and turned around to sit on her desk, crossing her arms across her chest. She was still clearly fuming, and he leant back in his seat.

“You heard the same stuff I heard, Rose. We’re not allowed to touch Black Hat Organisation for ‘legal reasons’.”

“Sure.” She scoffed. A long pause followed before she stood up again.

“I mean, this place is called the Betterment of Humanity through the Organisation and Research of superhuman Groups. What the hell could Black Hat possibly have to do with that!?”

He shrugged, and Rose muttered a quiet ‘Fucking hell’ under her breath.

“You’re just asking for trouble again.” He concluded, turning back to his own work, “I bet you wouldn’t be so angry if you didn’t always work so late.”

“Oh, really?” Rose laughed, “You’d think that.” He simply shrugged again. Rose exhaled and dropped down into her chair. Working late was actually having the complete opposite effect. There was less chance of her murdering someone. But that didn’t stop her from being pissed off and disappointed. The Organisation was undoubtedly interesting, with incredible tech and ties that she wasn’t allowed to even touch.

Rose drummed her fingers on the desk irritably. At that moment, Alya walked past, concerned with the notice she was holding.

“I need someone to go to the police station and check the latest interrogation of Lady Tarantula.”

“I’ll go!” Rose jumped out of her seat, grabbing her things and stuffing them into her bag, before adding with a grumble, “Not like I’ve got anything better to do.” She made sure to grab the files she had thrown into her drawer before hurrying out of the building.

Hours later, Rose’s phone started beeping loudly and repeatedly.

“Yeah yeah I’m coming.” Rose remarked, walking into the living room. She once again questioned why she was talking to an inanimate object as she turned off the alarm and dropped down onto the sofa, careful not to disturb the work set up around her.

The last few hours hadn’t been that exciting, just watching cops ask a spider lady a few questions about her latest crime. Sometimes it was a wonder they got anything done without heroes, but then again, it was better than Fucsberg.

Rose put the earphones in her ears before settling. As the static ended and the show began, Rose smiled a little. She resumed scribbling down dates and locations, which eventually led to half-baked theories jotted in the margins so she didn’t forget when she went to find evidence later. There was a brief period where she changed focus to write notes on the villain Peacock was featuring on his show for the night, but before long that ended, and he had begun his farewells.

“Ya breakin’ my heart…” Rose muttered, and chuckled to herself. She started packing up her things, sure that the show was a few seconds away from finished, but instead there was only a brief pause before-

“Oh, and a message to the certain someone from the research station who has been listening in for the past week. Yes, I know you’re there dear.” He rambled off a code before continuing, “Dial in that code so we can have a little chat. Thank you, and goodnight.” The radio faded to static. Rose stared, wide eyed and mouth open in shock. She stood frozen in place, playing the last thirty seconds over in her mind repeatedly as she tried to discern whether that had really just happened or not. Eventually a small noise not unlike a scream escaped her throat and she covered her mouth with her hands.

“Holy fuck. Hoooooly fuck.” Peacock had just spoken to her directly. Peacock had just spoken to her directly. She had to rip the earphones out of her ears and do a lap around the room just to get the shock and the excitement out of her system. Rose stopped, and slowly sat down on the sofa. He had to have meant her, but then again he might not have, in which case she’d be making an idiot of herself. But she was so sure he had been talking to her.

Rose thought it over for a minute more, and then she looked to her phone now resting on the coffee table. Slowly, she picked it up, and while bracing herself for disappointment she unplugged the earphones and dialled the code Peacock had given. Rose held the phone to her ear, and waited.

“Hello?”

So I up and went and drew the Villainous self-insert I mentioned in another post, still can’t draw human anatomy for shit but hey it’s not bad

Some extra bits because they’re not clear:

I left the bit at the bottom of the hoodie because I drew the pudge on the stomach first, but then realised that the hoodie would cover it up, so I left both because I want it to be clear that there’s a bit of pudge there

There are two wristbands on my right wrist hidden under the sleeve, one in the bisexual flag colours and one in the genderqueer flag colours

I’m not missing my left arm I just couldn’t make it look right so I decided fuck it and put it behind the back

Rose Paradox

Rose works for a section of the government specifically created for the purpose of studying and investigating superheroes and supervillains. This works out well for her because she’s a massive nerd about heroes and villains, she’s absolutely fascinated with them, to the point where she’ll ignore other people and parts of her life for the sake of her job. Because she’s neutral (both in employment and morally), heroes can’t take her to jail and villains won’t kill her. Rose spends a lot of time reading reports and conducting tests on heroes’ powers. She also may have a slight thing for Black Hat ;)
