What is your opinion on mor and azriels relationship do you really think he was in love with her for 500 years? Like to me its so confusing because i just cant belive somone would stay in love with somone gor so long when they obviously aren’t interested i think there’s more behind it🧐
Hi love! Wow, a lot of people have asked me about my thoughts on El**n and Az, but no one has asked me about Mor, so I love this question and am happy to share my thoughts!
So honestly, I absolutely agree that there is probably more to their story and friendship that we know about. I feel like we didn't get a lot of details besides the fact that Az had a crush on her for centuries. And maybe 500 years is not a lot in Fae life? But IDK 5 centuries is wild!!!
Part of it may be the fact that it was an on and off type of crush? Like you know when you move on from someone, and then after a while, you just fall back into the crush. I think Az is the kinda male who would be stuck on someone for a while, and then would attempt to move on, but then just fall straight back into the crush.
I also think part of it was (I think) SJM had confirmed that Morr had sent a lot of mixed signals?? IDK if that is 100%, so don't hold me to that. I do know that when someone is sending you mixed signals, you are very hopeful they will come around and it's possible that was Az's thought process
I also think Az is the kinda male who is very committed to someone when he likes them, and will wait for them for however long it takes. Azriel isn't the kinda male to open up to anyone very easily, so when he does open up to Morr or even El**n, he probably feels comfortable with liking them?
Another thing that I feel is that Azriel seems kinda self destructive with the females he falls for? I think he is pretty traumatized from his childhood, and maybe he picks females to fall for that aren't emotionally available for him or are just not interested so he doesn't fall for someone who would reciprocate his feelings, and then lose that. IDK if that fully makes sense, but I also know @azriels-angels (who is absolutely brilliant) made a headcanon that Azriel has a bit of a savior complex when it comes to the females he falls for/the females he falls for are damsels in distress, and I could also totally see that as a reason why he loved Morr for so long.
Anyway, sorry for this in depth response, but ultimately, I think there are some story lines that SJM didn't really think through fully. 500 years is absolutely wild, but maybe she is a genius and is saving the tea for Azriel's book.
