Turbo Nerd (Sketch): Since I'm trying to overhaul him, I didn't want to finish his yet.
Zaster without goggles. I did go through the trouble of drawing his eyes under the goggles, but I don't like how he's looking at me, so I didn't post it to the server XP.
GAB's Alex Palette. So, I don't love using orange/white for the Alexes outfit, but those are the canon colors, so I try to work around them. If/when I take my Alexes for my own work, this is probably closer to the color scheme I would use.
The first image is Rose being haunted/hunted by her alternate self. It was just one of my usual bad sketches, but I found my cross-hatching brush, and went a little wild with it~. I animated just 'cus I could.
Sludge (the green robot looking thing sitting next to Rose and holding a burger) is not my design. There's another artist on the server that posts their take on the characters from time to time. I really liked their design for this guy, so I decided to draw it~
I'm trying to solidify my Turbo Nerd design a bit more, but he just isn't where I want him to be. I'm tempted to completely scrap this version and try something totally different and hopefully get something I'll be happy with~
The Osomatsu-san parody is because we finally got 3 pairs of Alex designs on the server, and I really wanted an excuse to title a piece "Alex & Alex & Alex & Alex &Alex & Alex". The blue-shirt Alexes were designed by the same person who made Sludge. Their designs aren't really lore accurate (from what *little* we have to go on), but I like their unique takes~
The last doodle is something I drew based on a painting I recently saw at a museum. When I saw it, I thought it was very "Alex & Alex".
But, my version didn't come out too good, so I'm probably not going to finish it (or, I'll just restart~)
Rose is the latest character that I've started to get invested in.
As someone who unfortunately has daddy issues which can never be resolved now, I do find her general story to be relatable, and I want to explore how the neglect from D. Zaster is affecting her. (I mean, in one universe she apparently becomes a serial killer, so she's clearly going through something.)
In my earlier sketches, I aged Rose up to be a young adult, but recently I decided to age her back down to around high school age so that her current neglect resonates a bit harder. But, I don't want to go too young or else Zaster starts to become less and less likeable for essentially leaving his daughter to grow up on her own~
That said, since I'm changing her to be younger, I might recycle one of the older designs to be killer!Rose.
I want it to come across that her "thorny" exterior is a defense mechanism from her not developing a strong sense of trust or security. She's someone who puts on a brave face despite the horrors~
A lot of the time I tend to draw her when I draw Arma, because surprise surprise, I think that Arma is probably her mom, but I don't know that for sure. So while I do purposefully give them some similar traits, they're still different enough that it's still plausible that someone else is actually her mom.
Also, I don't know where I got the idea that she was the mechanic type? I don't think that's actually in her lore, and I don't know why I thought it was??
I didn't have enough drawings of Ka-Boom to give her her own post, so she got folded into the last Misc. doodles post.
I think most of these are self-explanatory, but I guess there are some characters that haven't been seen yet: Indestructible Baby and the Rat King (they're not scale in that picture).
I don't have too many notes on them since those are just the initial sketches that don't have too much thought behind them, but I do want to mention that I plan on making the Rat King an albino rat, now that Alex & Alex aren't Albino anymore.
Bonus Rats and Rat pile to fulfill some requests that the server made when I first posted them.
