unpopular opinion, the point was to make someone like clarke a villain so she would look better in comparison. that was it. that was the whole point.
I like this take. And i agree. I actually did see a post a while ago that had hundreds of notes, that was written as this smoking hot take towards anti-Clarke's. I can pretty much sum it up as 'antis say Clarke is this and that, but Josephine is what those things actually look like in a person haha'
The real message of the show is that no one and nothing is static. The villains and heroes have all morally flipped since they were introduced. (and as always JRoth forgot Raven when building his big story.)
What are your favourite acting moments from The 100?
there are so many great moments I'm forgetting, but for now I would say my favourites are;
Bellamy yelling at Clarke upon her return to camp in s3. Bob acted this scene SO well. The range of emotions he goes through, the pain on his face, the regret breaking apart his voice. *chef's kiss* yes.
Raven attempting to leave camp in s1, and Bellamy stopping her. The lying. The way Lindsey uses her face, the heartbreak leaking through in her expression, the small moment of consideration she has of Bellamy's words before composing herself, putting up walls. The way the scene is acted feels so real, and Lindsey and Bob bounce off one another so naturally.
Raven's reaction to Finn's death. Such a powerful scene. Lindsey's screams were haunting and really worked to cement the absolute devistation of the action. The overpowering grief bleeding into the sobs never fail to make my eyes well up and chills form on my skin. This scene marked a shocking change in the show's tone.
I'm physically incapable of making a post like this without mentioning my adoration for Richard!! The s4 scene of him pleading with Clarke to let Emori live. He goes through so many emotions in such a short time. The grief, fear and anxiety of what Emori would be forced to endure, the desperation in his cries, his resentment of Clarke, all in conflict with the love for Emori he feels all at the same time as the rest. This angry flame fizzles out upon realising he just can't get through, turning to a chilling resignation and threat to hold over her head. Richard kills it! I felt the weight of every single word. He poured his heart into it and it was made even better with Eliza as a reciever; Clarke's poorly-concealed guilt, the denial of what the reality of the situation truely was, the burial of all he made her feel. I think her micro-expressions are great in this scene!!
Those are the scenes that really stick out to me. This show has a very talented cast!
What if there had been a dinosaur in the fighting pit with Bellamy, Indra and Gaia? Who lives? Who's lunch?
Indra could 100% take a dinosaur. not a doubt in my mind. i have no reasons, i just know. bellamy might even have had a chance, too, if his attempt at CPR is anything to go by. If that’s him trying to save someone, i wanna know how lethal hulk 2.0 is when he’s going in for a kill.
I can’t blame the dino for eating Gaia. She is a snack afterall ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What do I have to do to make you ship Echo and Ryker? -XOXO johnmurphysreddit. PS: Do you think he lives through the season?
@johnmurphysreddit
I’m already 75% on board with Rycho (?) just from your crack edits. They are the enemies-to-lovers nobody saw coming.
He comes across as quite a disposable character, there to serve the plot until they don’t need him anymore. But he does exist inside a mind drive, so even if his physical body is murked, Echo can still keep him in her purse.
Edit: turns out who we really needed to watch out for was Mr steal your girl (literally) Russel Lightbourne. Predictions for season 7 include: Ryker/Echo/Russel love triangle. They all have that murder, but make it sexy thing going for them.
What’s your favorite the 100 storyline of all time??
mt weather!! I’m a big maze runner fan, and clarke running around mt weather, finding all it’s secrets, then escaping screams WIKD. I liked the slow reveal of it all, the planning they went through to rescue the 47 once clarke was out and about, the infiltration with bellamy as a guard, ending with this kinda empty devistation where, despite all their efforts, they still had to take such a corrupt and extreme measure. I have a few issues with the framing of some of Clarke’s decisions through the whole storyline, and a few more minor general grievences, but i love the general idea of it and i miss what this show looked like back then. Their storytelling, characterization, approach to certain moral issues, it’s all just gone downhill from there. S2 just goes to show how capable these writers are when they focus on the story they want to tell and fully commit to it.
Thoughts on Echo being in the COL?? I always want more about that throwaway s4 line.
half of me just assumes echo took the chip not even knowing what it was, maybe as an order given to her, but it would also make so much sense, especially with that most recent reveal of her past, that she would want to numb her pain. The chip gave her freedom that wasn’t otherwise available to her. She spent her days taking orders, directing others, leading missions, suppressing her own identity in order to make room for another, and entering the COL would’ve lifted that burden right off of her. She would get to exist weightlessly. I can see how it might’ve been appealing to her. So if it was somehow presented to her as a pain-relief option like it was to other characters, i can see her being skeptical at first before ultimately giving in.
