As a longtime fan of the Watchmen graphic novel, will I like the series?
ALMOST DEFINITELY YES
so, you know how the movie that we do not speak about took the angst, the moral ambiguity, the existential questions, the deep and painful humanity of the comic and flattened it all out into some paper thin bullshit which had no cultural impact except for one (1) decent smashing pumpkins song?
so, the show does the opposite. it feels BIG while also being a CLOSE UP on a small cast of characters which are drawn with such DEPTH and PATHOS. it takes the general watchmen question of “wtf is the right thing anyway????” and applies it to NOW. it’s GREAT
without spoilers, but for context: the show is set after the graphic novel, in a post giant squid, post dr. manhattan fucking off to mars world. it is HEAVILY political in ways that are smart, thought provoking and real. it’s set in Tulsa, and yes the history of the place is very plot relevant. the cast is pretty evenly balanced between familiar faces and new characters
also YES adrian is there and YES he’s the same campy supervillian. because that character was already perfect and the writers know when not to fuck with perfection

My farmer in my newest save is also a lesbian and I am so torn. I’m thinking of going with Haley or Leah…
Lesbian farmers FTW! I was so upset when I saw Robin wasn’t romanceable, I’m a sucker for a pretty girl with red hair lol, but I might go with Abigail or Leah
oh my goddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd I was looking up my boy Joseph Timms’s career moves cause I rewatched the Francis scene from the Globe H4-1, so I was wondering what he was up to since I last saw him, and it turns out he was in like 4 episodes of a terrible show called Atlantis that I tried to watch while it was airing because the premise is right up my alley but I couldn’t get past the awfulness BUT
OH MY FREAKIN GOD my little Francis bby Joseph Timms, who when I asked him at the stage door to sign my Shrew DVD said “I’m in this one!” and spent awhile gushing about the rest of the cast when I told him I knew and had in fact asked him to sign it for that reason, who eventually bashfully introduced himself to me with “I’m Joe Timms” and a handshake,
that lovely small man was in Atlantis, all right. He played Icarus and he is CANONICALLY SLASHED WITH PYTHAGORAS THE MAIN CHARACTER’S SIDEKICK so beautifully that I asked myself, as I watched, what these gorgeously executed gay period drama scenes were doing in this trash fantasy show. It was glorious. It’s been vidded. More than once. LOOK HOW BEAUTIFULLY GAY MY LOVELY FRANCIS IS this is the best news I’ve had in weeks
this is it. the day has finally come where i have to tell the world... I’m totally a Shaniac. i adore Ryan, but i’m here for everything Shane has to offer the universe
almost all the major colors are blocked in. now it’s just squiggles, calligraphy initials, and details EXCEPT
1. what should go in the top left corner of the main capital illumination? The other quarters are the Pheasantry pheasant, the Goldfinch goldfinch, and the Madding Crowd oak leaf/acorn/shepherd’s crook.
2. what should go under Brush? The Dirty Weekend shovel is above it, and I could do the pick underneath for symmetry, but I feel like I’m leaving something out.
3. if I put my signature in one of the squares between edge keyboards, what should I put in the other one?
