HI. HELLO. i hoped you liked this. i've had thoughts about this for forever + drawing this kicked my ass ^_^
its not really that in-depth, it's just a series of noticing things . like the purple in rosemary's old photos, how it's something she wore and how gary would match with his tie, but then noticing the lack of purple in most any of his outfits. and then i noticed shauna wearing a purple sweater to the funeral when 36x10 "The Man Who Flew Too Much" came out.
now, shauna isn't a character who goes to church - she's jewish and also a rebellious teenager (in 31x19 "Warrin' Priests", she and jimbo go to church just to make out) - so this isn't exactly an environment she would be in. so it's curious as to why she's wearing this, specifically purple and not a black one in mourning like everyone else. is this her winter wear? no, she wears a jacket for that. her formal attire? she's also wearing this to a funeral? like, the only time she's worn this? hah ... well. #myinnerthoughts
anyway, that's my loose connections, my. clutches head "what could this all mean". you can make this about chalmskinn if you want, thats partially what i tied it back to when first thinking about purple being a (former) chalmers colour(?), but in my mind it's also about the constant reminder of rosemary as the both of them carries through their lives. if i care enough, i'd make a more whatever follow-up that kind of illustrates my point better, but ehhhhh
