Well, Dr Evans has a hand fetish…he gets off on watching girls with attractive hands wash and soap their hands, rub cream on their hands, and occasionally, touch themselves with their hands. He has no need to be touched himself, nor does he have any desire for physical intimacy with the owner of the hands. I’m sure he goes home afterwards and fantasizes about Saoirse’s hands while he is in bed with his wife, or when he’s alone in his study, but whatevs, lolol. Hand fetishism is called Quirofilia and is apparently quite rare. I will be explaining very shortly how Saoirse found out about his kink.

It’s a little naive of Saoirse not to realize the good doctor probably goes home and takes care of things with the inspiration she’s given. Still, if she’s okay with that arrangement it’s not Roy’s business. Still a little concerning that she’s lying to her husband about doing that but meh. Dysfunctional marriages all over this place.

I am sure Saoirse is well aware of what the doctor might do when he gets home, but she isn’t really interested! And she justifies not telling her husband by telling herself that he would not understand (definitely true) and that it’s harmless, and no one is getting hurt, and that if she didn’t have a little outlet for her subversive streak then she would go insane.

Why does Saoirse go along with this? Does she have a hand fetish too? Just claiming to be a freak does not really explain the motivation behind this behavior! BTW, I like Saoirse. She seems a lot nicer than his wife. But Roy is not really thinking clearly, is he?

LOLOL Roy is not thinking things through, and being extremely selfish, but like I said earlier, I do admire his bravery and his crazy risk-taking…I guess it’s those qualities that make him a successful sports agent, too. Now, as for Saoirse, she goes along with it because she gets a giggle out of it, it makes her feel special, and a bit naughty, and she gets off the fact that no one else would have the foggiest idea what she and the kindly old vet get up to after hours. (Briony suspects they are having an affair, but has no proof).

Lol! I was being sarcastic and not explaining myself. :P I would love it if the movie thing that came from the store actually worked like I envisioned it to. You know sims watching movies at movies times without me having to set it up. I haven’t played through fully in a time and not 100% what will work and not. I know sims will come but not for what the lot is intended for.

Your eye for details always amazes me!! I'm really curious to learn how on earth you managed to stick all the posters to the back of the windows?

*blushes* Thank you! Not everything I do works but this part at least does. (I just did the movie viewing area and it looks terrible imo compared to the outside). 

The posters are from the Showtime EP (I think). So they are big and I just put them on the wall after I put the windows up with Move Objects On. And just played around with the selection. Not everything worked but I found a combo that didn’t cause a monstrosity of flickering. Only 1 slightly flickers (the darn texture overlap) so I can live with that. Also, I’m using the Hastings build set so it’s helping to hide unwanted poster bits.

Now if you really want to be technical about it and arrange things, you can use Nraas DebugEnabler or Decorator's Best Friend to move things in any direction you want without using osmp’s.

You know, it never occurred to me that was what this song was about, I just thought it was a bit weird and the artist like... has a stroke during the chorus. But it makes sense now why that whole group of guys at BlizzCon was so uncomfortable when me and a friend went by arm in arm, singing it at the top of our lungs. XD

I’m not 100% sure that’s actually what it is, there’s just some comments saying that on the video. And it makes more sense than a cake contest or whatever xD

Hmm. 

I looked up “pet peeve meaning” and it said “something that a particular person finds especially annoying*

I think…I’ve noticed that I don’t like stories where bad things are constantly happening. It was a published book that made me realize this, by the way, so no one needs to get anxious that I’m thinking this about their Sims story.

I know that writing advice blogs are all “Constant conflict!!!! Conflict in every sentence!!! There must always be stakes and danger and drama!!!” But those kinds of stories exhaust me. It’s okay if the characters just chill for a bit sometimes, you know? 

Everything else I could think of would be kind of mean to pick on, because it’s habits people pick up from YA books that I haven’t read. I’ll explain a couple of those, but remember this is also from books more than Sims stories.

One thing that always gets me is the heroine checking herself out in a mirror and admiring her squirming aubergine locks and her spiky citrine eyes. (See what I did there? Write it that way and it’ll be cool and interesting, because now you have to develop a story around why she has eggplant colored lock mechanisms attached to her head and why they’re squirming, and why her eyes are orange and why they have spikes.)

Oh, also this new way of using the word “smirk”, where it seems to mean something much different from what I’ve always thought it meant. I get it, language changes and evolves, but this particular change in language has left me really disappointed and confused sometimes.

I remember once reading about a dude smirking while saying something to a friend, and I kept waiting and waiting for the payoff, wondering what his scheme was or what dirty little secret he knew or how he was going to socially devastate the person he smirked at and how what he was saying while he smirked tied into it all, and it never came. It’s bad form to just put Chekov’s smirk out there for everyone to see but then never have it go off. 

Take it easy on us old folks who think that a smirk is a nasty mean smug scheming type of expression, like the way your bully looks at you when they just used the innocent act on a school administrator and blamed you and got you punished even though they hit you first and they started it, and maybe use some other context clues to help us get what you mean by it. Like body language maybe?

I looked it up to try and understand, and I found this essay, and the essay seems to be making the point that it’s actually rooted in the first pet peeve I mentioned - the idea that stories need constant forced unrealistic conflict.

Speaking of which, please don’t take anything I am saying here personally or as me telling you what to write. I am just answering a question about what personally annoys me. I would fully support anyone who wanted to take my answers here and set out to write The Story That Would Most Annoy That Awful Person, Who Does She Think She Is, with constant conflict and danger and heroines constantly looking in the mirror and admiring themselves and constant smirking that never leads anywhere.

But anyway, yeah. My writing advice is to never listen to those reblogs. Most of the ones I’ve seen have terrible advice anyway, like exhorting young beginners who don’t know any better to use wildly awkward and clunky words for their dialogue tags instead of just using “said”. Said works. Said is fine. I aggressively use said in my work, just to smirk at those lists. ;)

By the way, I went to look in the mirror, and my hair is long and brown and straight and thin, like the hair of millions of other people. So you will never notice it squirming. ;) Also my eyes are hazel with a ring of dark brown around the edges, and they are so limpid that if you look into them, you can see all the way through to my optic nerve.

No one died in it...but it is quite the story.

There are a few more articles but this gives the overall picture. The trial is supposed to take place next week, I think I read, but they may have to postpone again because the psychiatric doctor assigned to him has to be at another court case. 

Anyway... The house that this took place in is directly across the street.

While that’s a bit eerie and all, here’s the really weird part. This dudes brother moved in there with his wife and kids. Yes, he chose to move his family into the house where his brother brutally murdered their mum. Nope, not creepy at all. Who does that?

Not only that, the word is the brother that is living there is the neighborhood bully and pretty much harasses everyone and is the reason a number of the neighbors have moved out. Not sure if it’s still there since the house went up for sale, but they had a security camera in their trees pointed at this house spying on the people who used to live here. He’s an uncertified school teacher for problem kids that have their own class/school/something and his wife has also gone into teaching and word is she has the same mental disorder as the brother who is waiting to stand trial.
