Hi! I think you might know of good places to read the manga and the webcomic? Asking for recommendations!
I’m presuming you’re asking both in general and for OPM specifically? Mangadex is a great site on desktop that isn’t too bad on screen either. It allows for bookmarking, has a decent search function and isn’t loaded with porn ads.
It also does something nice: under each title, you get links to all the different versions, in terms of language choices and editions, so it’s very handy for a title like OPM.
There’s a couple of other, seedier sites that are worth keeping in mind for OPM. Mangaseeonline likes to upload the Viz version as soon as they’re available, so it’s handy for the print version (if you don’t pay for the Viz digital subscription, which is worthwhile if you have 2-3 Shonen Jump titles you follow). Mangapanda also has a good side: it never, ever updates the first uploaded edition, which makes it great if you want to go back and see chapters as they initially appeared. You will need a good adblocker for either site.
Recs? Ah, that’s tough! I’m not currently a huge fan of most hero-based stories, so OPM is a bit out of the ordinary for me. Let’s see, some stuff that I’ve liked recently has to be ‘The Way of the House Husband’ -- slice-of-life story about an ex-yakuza turned house husband. Absurdly hilarious. ‘Silver Spoon’ -- Arakawa’s next opus after Full Metal Alchemist couldn’t be more different as it’s set in a very mundane agricultural college, but you won’t regret reading it. ‘Beastars’ -- sentient, sapient animals try to get along despite their fundamental natures, and a wolf and rabbit fall in love. I loved the anime a lot more than I did the manga, but it’s pretty damn good too. ‘Dorohedoro’ is a rather grisly, yet full of heart, fantasy story. Not at all funny but really good is the tense, psychological drama of ‘A Trail of Blood’ -- it’s incredible. Not much happens most chapters, no one dies, and yet, yet! And if that’s all too serious, catch up with ‘Mashle’ -- in a world of everyone using magic, a guy who just uses his strength has an unexpected advantage.
Oldies but goodies: ‘Hajime no Ippo’ -- in my family we joke that Morikawa won’t finish this before his grandchildren graduate college, but it’s a good one and the only sports-based manga that I follow. ‘Full Metal Alchemist’ is still one of my all-time favourite mangas. ‘City Hunter’ -- yes, I’m going old-school here! Oh dear, I’m going to go on and on if I’m not careful.
