what’s your favorite “elusive” series? (i.e., the series that most people haven’t heard of)

only my FAVORITE ONE OF ALL TIME, the kushiel’s legacy series by jacqueline carey! and i mean legitimately my favorite lol this is not hyperbole, and i only know like two other people who have read it!! i think it’s because it’s adult fantasy and i don’t run in circles that are into that, book-wise

BUT YOU ALL SHOULD BECAUSE WHILE IT IS HEAVY IT IS ALSO GLORIOUS

i don’t think so. having said that, i was amalgamating two documents so while i lost one of them i have the other one so i can kind of reconstruct the puzzle piece and it won’t be quite as hard as it was the first time. but fhhhhhgnhhhh

also the reason this happened in the first place is bc i was like “wow i better close all these documents before i leave for the weekend in case the system does what it occasionally does and randomly corrupt things i left open, wouldn’t wanna lose this”

it is a fitting end to the kind of work week i had though. lol i just kind of put my head in my hands for a minute and then was like welp this is a problem for monday kali

Hi Butterfly :) Sorry if this is a bother to you, but since you've been recommending great fics lately, I thought I might ask too. Is there a good story out there about Rhaella and Elia last days together in KL? Perhaps my headcanon is completely false, but I could imagine Rhaella feeling sorry for Elia. Even if things didn't turn out okay for her, she's still the one who got away from Aerys while Elia had to stay under his thumb. I'd be super interested in a fic exploring that tbh

I actually do know of one, and it’s amazing. It’s by @poorshadowspaintedqueens, lareinenore @ AO3, called The Death of Kings. Rhaella isn’t a POV in it, IIRC, but she is a major character in Elia’s chapters. Note triggers, of course, for Aerys and the Sack, and other things. Also, @joannalannister might be able to recommend something for you? She collects such fics for her @pre-gameofthrones blog, and she has a special interest in the Dead Ladies Club. Hope that helps!

Thank you for saying what we've all been thinking for some time now. That tag used to be my safe place away from D&D's story, but now I just hate going into it because even with all variations of 'got' blacklisted there's still higher chances of stumbling upon a got related post than an actual asoiaf edit, these days. Browsing asoiaf blogs one by one or on my dash is the only way to avoid got and it's just annoying

I know… Right now there are more GoT posts than asoiaf ones in the tag :( I don’t think it’s bad to use images/scenes from the show to make edits/gifsets about the books, but a show!only scene even with the subs… that’s not asoiaf content (GoT s7 spoilers after the cut, DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW WHAT’S BEEN GOING ON ON THE SHOW!)

Jon and Sansa aren’t at Winterfell in the books, Jon isn’t king in the north, Arya isn’t in the Riverlands and hasn’t killed House Frey’s members, Daenerys hasn’t arrived at Dragonstone, Bran hasn’t arrived at the wall (without Jojen, Hodor and Summer!)… I think it’s okay to use these scenes if they can be related in some way to the books, with a book quote for example. But gifting these scenes just as they appeared on the show and tagging them with the asoiaf tag… that’s not okay

I hope nobody gets offended by what I’ve been saying about this :) it’s just what I think and it’s why the book tag was created

They might have also gotten to the point where she ruled the region while he was in King’s Landing or at war.6: favorite line from this character: Her only line, “You may take my castle, but you will win only bones and blood and ashes.”7: one way in which I relate to this character: Her stubbornness. 8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: The scene when she was forced out of Storm’s End naked would have been pretty mortifying, but it wasn’t her fault. I really want an explanation on why the mutineers thought that was necessary. 9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave? Neither?
