A tribute to Nagasawa Rosetsu

We've visited the Nagasawa Rosetsu exhibition in Museum Rietberg, Zurich with my lovely girlfriend. Rosetu’s paintings were shown the first time outside of Japan. The Museum drew a nice atmosphere around the paintings although I would be excited to see the paintings in their original placement in Japan, surrounded by wood and bamboo. Although I loved many of his paintings my favorite one is the “Frogs and Morning Glories” depicting a lake on six panels in a very minimalistic way, great composition. He was thinking differently as most painters at that time and this is reflected in many of his paintings.
