Imagine Ash bringing Keirran to his first Elysium. He’d hesitated, even though the boy is well past the age where he should be attending social events, more out of a need to keep him away from his grandmother than anything else, but after a couple of hours passing without incident, and Kierran chatting amiably with fey from all different Courts, Ash finds himself relaxing a bit. That is, until he notices his son has all but vanished from sight a mere half hour later.
He makes a circuit of the ballroom, keeping an eye out for Kierran, and frowning when he spots his son’s familiar figure hunched in a corner near the farthest part of the room. He marches over, ready to ask what’s driven Kierran to hiding in a corner, when he sees the unmistakable form of a young woman pressed into the corner in front of Kierran; her hands roaming eagerly over the young Prince’s shoulders and through his hair.
Ash stands momentarily rooted to the spot, gaping, then hurriedly glances around to see if anyone else has noticed. A couple of phouka are cackling several yards away, having spotted the lovebirds, but they don’t seem in any hurry to let anyone else know. Ash gives them a glare that sends them scurrying off, then approaches Kierran reluctantly. He taps his son firmly on the shoulder.
Kierran lifts his head a little dazedly, and looks over his shoulder at his father. It seems to take him a moment to recognize him, and then his expression quickly shifts to something close to horror.
“Dad,” he stammers, releasing the fey girl immediately.
The Winter female slumps back against the wall, rosy cheeked and glassy eyed with a faint smile on her lips.
Ash raises an eyebrow. “We’ll talk about this later,” he says, giving Kierran a pointed look. “In the meantime, come sit with your Mother and keep your tongue to yourself.”
Sullenly, Kierran follows Ash back to the high table, where he spends the rest of night casting furtive glances to where the Winter female is standing chatting up a couple of sidhes.
After Elysium, once Ash and his family have returned home, Kierran abruptly shuts himself in his room, and Meghan gives Ash a pointed look.
“What?” he asks.
“So how about that ‘we’ll talk about it later’ bit?” she asks, cocking an eyebrow.
Sighing, Ash trudges up the stairs to his son’s room, hesitating just outside. He knew, like attending Elysium, that this day would come, he just really wasn’t looking forward to it… He knocks on his son’s door, waits for permission to enter, and steps inside. Kierran is sprawled on his bed, reading his Nook, but puts it down as Ash enters.
“Time for ‘the’ talk,” Ash tells him, arms folded over his chest.
Kierran blinks, then smirks. “Sure, Dad,” he says, sitting up, “What do you want to know?"
If the series was going to made into a movie which actors/actresses would you pick for the characters :)?
Douglas Booth--Puck
(I can’t tell you how difficult it was to pick an actor for this idiot. A lot of people like Eddie Redmayne for Puck but for some reason he just doesn’t look the part to me. I think I went through about five other potential actors before finally settling on this guy. He’s not well known, but the fact that he has what I would consider Puck’s trademark grin in some of the pictures I found of him sold it for me.)
Elle Fanning--Meghan Chase
Logan Lerman--Ash
Tom Felton--Rowan
William Moseley--Sage
Angelina Jolie--Mab
Michelle Pfeiffer--Titania (I mean, she’s done it before. Why not again?)
Jason Isaacs--Oberon
Stephen Fry--Grimalkin (Because his voice is PERFECT. He did the Chesire Cat in Alice in Wonderland and I can’t imagine anyone being better.)
Peter Facinelli--Machina
Taylor Lautner--Glitch
Christopher Lloyd--Ferrum
Nicole Kidman--Leanansidhe
Julie Andrews--Lady Weaver
Emma Stone--Virus
Djimon Honsou--Ironhorse
Zoe Saldana--Tiaothin
Liam Hemsworth--Scott Waldron
Maggie Smith--Ms. Stacy/Nurse
Let me know if there’s anyone else from the series you’d like to see my choice of actor for. I hope this answers your question. =)
Imagine Ash taking Kierran on outings to give Meghan a break. He takes the time to teach him sword fighting, how to properly manipulate his glamour, and--when asked--telling his son stories of how he and Meghan first met, and the trials they endured together.
During the lazier days they spend together, he takes Kierran on trips through the wyldwood, where the young Prince stares around him in awe as dryads peer out from their trees to watch them pass, and piskies zoom from tree to tree.
