(i) You were used to safer grounds that felt more like minefields because you deep down knew it wasn’t where you were supposed to be. you were rooted in lies so far deep you convinced yourself those beliefs didn’t take something out of you little by little, but you’re not a carcass yet, it’s never too late to incinerate what’s holding you down. Now, the truth has never been so appealing by just being entwined around him so intrinsically, you wish he’d dismantle & build you up again in his image, but from the first time your eyes met, you were already unraveling, you were just too preoccupied with cataloging every detail of him you didn’t realise that, with each stroke of his fingers on your skin, he unstripped you from all your inhibitions like a tablecloth trick. (ii) They try to tell him you’re a mere side-effect, but how could that be when his mouth hasn’t known what’s loneliness ever since it tasted yours. And when your body clashed against his, it felt more like synergy, as if planets aligned, & the universe shifted its way just to accommodate you and him. He’s too well acquainted with symptoms, his own words tend to ricochet in his mind in a symphony only him can fully comprehend, and it frightens him not knowing if you can bear to take the whiplash, willingly. He got so used to people only wanting to consume the diluted form of him that when you held your palms up, begging for more, he wished he never ought to let you go. But the immensity of infinity & its possibilities are unkind because he’s inclined to believe in the eventuality of you leaving. But the immensity of infinity & its possibilities keeps him awake at night because there aren’t enough parallel universes to satisfy his cravings of you.
