THERE’S GONNA BE A HOMOSEXUAL PAIRING ON REVENGE
I’M SO GLAD I STARTED WATCHING IT
(X)
Part 2/2 (part 1 here) of the lovely Daniblondy's Nolan/Patrick birthday fic. Happy birthday darling, sorry it's a little late, but I hope you like it!
The fic does not follow the show and I guess it's 99% wishful thinking and I guess it gets a little (or a lot) OOC at the end.. It's a bit sappy/sweet/fluffy.. and still my first Revenge fic.. so be nice!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
“You’re late, I started without you.” Nolan said as Patrick sat down next to him on the lounge chair by the pool.
“I know. I’m sorry. I told my mother about us.. and that unleashed some drama.” Patrick said and decided lying down was better than sitting up and lay down in between Nolan’s legs.
Nolan ran his fingers through Patrick’s hair.
“Did queen Victoria banish you from her kingdom?”
“No not exactly. But she’s not happy. I think she’s looking through her contact lists now to find someone for me she approves of.”
“Someone who’s not friends with Emily.”
Patrick nodded.
“Yeah, basically. But enough about that. She knows about us now so we don’t have to hide anymore.”
“That’s certainly an improvement.” Nolan said and leaned down to kiss Patrick. “We can do that in public now. Emily knows too. She saw you leave this morning.”
“Yeah I said hello to her when I walked out the door. I’ve never seen someone so confused that early in the morning.” Patrick said laughingly. “How did she take it?”
“She told me to dump you because you’re dangerous and you can’t be trusted.. and threatened to kill you if you hurt me.”
“Pretty well then.” Patrick said and both men laughed.
They sat in silence for a while, just watching the moonlight reflect in the water in Nolan’s pool and enjoying each other’s company.
“Are you hungry?” Nolan asked as he finished the last of his wine and felt around for the bottle. “I made food for us.”
“Made?” Patrick asked, grinning.
“Ok I ordered it, sue me.” Nolan said laughingly. “But I am going to take cooking classes and then I’m going to make you dinner. Actually prepare it myself and everything.”
“I’m not sure if that’s a promise or a threat.” Patrick joked and got up. “Let’s eat.”
“Six months and he’s already making jokes about my cooking.” Nolan said as he followed Patrick indoors.
“You should see what I can do in another six.”
“Promises, promises.”
------
“You know that thing you said earlier.. about me seeing what you can do in another six months?”
“Do you want a preview?” Patrick joked and propped himself up on his elbow in bed
Nolan smiled.
“I think I just got one. But I was thinking.. Maybe we could.. make this a more.. permanent arrangement.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well.. you only go back to your apartment for a change of clothes.. what if your clothes were here? I could clear some space for you.”
“You want me to keep my clothes here?” Patrick asked. He knew what Nolan meant but he wanted to hear the other man say the words.
“And the rest of your stuff. And yourself.”
“Are you saying what I think you’re saying?”
“I want you to move in with me.” Nolan said quickly, before he’d lose his nerve. “This house is big enough for the both of us. And I like having you further away from queen Victoria’s talons.”
“This place is actually closer to Grayson manor than my apartment.” Patrick said, amused.
“That might be true but queen Victoria and her subjects wouldn’t want to be caught dead at my house. Our house.”
“I don’t know, I think she might come down here to drag me away by my ear and ground me for life.”
“Well.. are you going to do what mama approves of.. or are you going to be a big boy and make your own decisions?”
Patrick smiled and pushed Nolan’s messy hair out of his face.
“She’ll explode. She’ll hate you more than ever.”
“I can live with that.” Nolan said and gave a one shouldered shrug. “She already hates me for being friends with Emily, this is just another item on her list. If you say yes that is.”
“What about Mathis?”
“What about him? He doesn’t live here. I let him stay here when queen Victoria banished him because he and Ems were kind of a thing at a certain point.. but now she’s got a Grayson bun in her oven and he can go back to jolly old England.”
“Does he know that?”
“He’ll find out eventually. He can move into your old apartment.”
“Aren’t we moving too fast?”
“We’re not moving at all.” Nolan noted and sat up in bed. “You don’t have to move in with me.. if you think it’s too soon or don’t want to be responsible for Victoria’s latest breakdown..”
“No that’s not it.” Patrick said, stroking Nolan’s thigh. “I like being around you. A lot. I just.. I have a history of screwing things up and I don’t want to add what we have to that list.”
“You won’t. I won’t let you.” Nolan said and kissed Patrick. “We’ll make it work.”
“How come you’re so confident?”
Nolan shrugged.
“I just.. decided to choose me and not let life screw me over anymore.. So.. is that a yes then?”
“Yeah. Yes. It’s a yes. I’ll move in with you.”
“Good answer.” Nolan said and smiled.
“You want to tell my mother don’t you?” Patrick asked.
“More than anything right now.”
Patrick laughed.
“We’ll call her after breakfast tomorrow.”
“I’d kill to be able to see her face when she finds out.. but she’ll probably have me thrown in the Grayson Manor dungeons and have me drawn and quartered the next day if we actually get face to face.”
----
~a few days later~
“That’s the last one.” Patrick said happily as he put the last box of his stuff in the car. “I’m just going to return the key, I’ll be right back.” He said and pecked Nolan’s lips before walking back into his old apartment building to find the super.
“Mr Ross. I’d say it’s a pleasure to see you but it’s still early and I don’t want to lie.”
Nolan turned around and forced himself to smile at the woman standing in front of him in undoubtedly one of her more expensive outfits.
“Victoria, good morning. What brings you here? This isn’t the Dior store or on the way to your country club.”
“I came to see my son, hoping the past few days have been nothing but a cruel joke and he has in fact found a more suitable life partner.” Victoria replied calmly.
“Aww you don’t approve of me being in a relationship with your son? I was hoping I could start calling you mum soon.”
“You will do no such thing.” Victoria said, horror and disgust clear in her voice.
“You’re right, not until after the wedding. We should make it legal first.” Nolan said, enjoying the fact he was getting a rise out of Victoria.
“It’s bad enough that I have to put up with Emily digging her claws into my family, I won’t tolerate another one of you. If you think I will allow or support this.. façade.. you’re mistaken. I’ll make sure my son sees the real you sooner or later mister Ross.”
Nolan laughed.
“Do your worst Victoria, Patrick knows my secrets. He already knows the real me.”
“She wasn’t in her office so I just put the key on the desk with a note...” Patrick said as he walked out the building. “Oh.. hi mum.. what are you doing here?”
“She came to see if you really are dating me or if you were just playing a prank on her.” Nolan explained. “I don’t think today is your lucky day Victoria.”
Victoria threw an icy look in Nolan’s direction before turning to her son.
“Darling, what’s going on here? You’re a handsome man, I’m sure there are more than enough eligible bachelors in the Hamptons that would love to take you out.”
Patrick shrugged.
“Maybe. But I’m not interested. I’m happy with Nolan. You don’t have to like it, but it’s not going to change.”
“That’s what you say now. You’re still young darling.”
“When you were my age you already had me and Daniel and married Conrad.”
“Let’s go inside and talk about this in private. If you’ll excuse us Mr. Ross..” Victoria said, glancing up and down the street, hoping nobody had overheard their conversation.
Patrick smiled.
“Inside? Inside this building? We can’t. I don’t live here anymore.”
“Did you finally buy that apartment above the gallery? I told you I’d buy it for you darling.”
“No. I didn’t buy the apartment above the gallery.”
“He’s moving in with me.” Nolan told Victoria, enjoying her shocked reaction a little too much. “Feel free to come over for coffee sometime, Victoria. But do call first. Wouldn’t want you to see anything that’s not.. meant for your eyes.”
-----
~5 months later~
“Nolan..” Patrick groaned, burying his head under his pillow. “Nolan.. your phone is ringing..”
Nolan stirred but didn’t wake up.
“I’ll never understand how you can sleep through that noise..” Patrick muttered as he crawled over Nolan to grab his phone from the nightstand and answer it. “Yeah?”
“Nolan? Is that you?”
“No this is Patrick, I’m his boyfriend. Who is this?”
“Patrick? Oh.. right.. of course.. It’s Daniel. Emily’s gone into labour. We’re at the hospital now.. she wanted me to call Nolan so he would be there when our daughter is born.”
“How long?”
“Until she’s born? I don’t know Patrick, I’m not a doctor. Just tell Nolan to get down here.” Daniel snapped and hung up.
“Ugh.. asshole.” Patrick muttered and shook Nolan’s shoulder. “Nolan, time to wake up. Baby time.”
---
“What are you doing here?” Victoria asked when she saw Nolan walking towards the waiting area of the maternity ward.“You’re not family.”
“I am. In every way but blood. Emily wanted me to be here. Daniel called. You’re out of luck Victoria, you can’t keep me away.”
“Hey, how is she doing?” Patrick asked nobody in particular when he walked through the double doors.
“The doctors say it could be a few hours still.” Charlotte told him. “Get some coffee and try to get comfortable.. and maybe keep mum and Nolan away from each other.”
Patrick nodded and sat down.
“Nolan can you get me some coffee? I saw a machine down the hall. We’ll probably be waiting a while and I’m still half asleep.”
“Sure thing honey. I’ll be right back.” Nolan said as he turned around in a way that would make a runway model jealous and walked away to find the coffee machine.
“Honey?” Charlotte asked laughingly. “I’ve never heard him call you anything other than your name.
Patrick smiled.
“He does that when he’s angry. I feel for that coffee machine. It’s going to take a verbal beating.”
“You two are so happy together. I want that too.” Charlotte sighed. “There hasn’t been anyone since Declan..”
“It’ll happen. Maybe there’s a hot doctor around here.” Patrick joked and threw a quick look over his shoulder before taking a small black box out of his pocket. “This thing is burning a hole in my pocket.. I’m worried he’ll find it if I keep it at the house.. can you hold onto it for me?”
“Is that an engagement ring?” Charlotte asked, opening the box.
“Yeah.. I bought it last week.. I’m just waiting for the right time to ask him. I wanted to wait until after the baby is born.. one thing at the time you know.”
“You can’t be serious.” Victoria said, clutching her handbag like a lifeline.
“I am serious. Very serious. But like I’ve told you before, you don’t have to like it. I’ve lived most of my life without you, I can do it again.”
“Can’t you see what he’s doing? He’s turning you against me. Against your own mother.”
“No, you can do that all by yourself mother.” Charlotte said. “Like you always do when things don’t go your way. You do anything and everything you can to change things.. and everybody ends up hating you in the end.”
“Here’s your coffee sweetie.” Nolan said as he handed Patrick a plastic cup. “Nice and warm. Like our bed.” He said and glared at Victoria.
A few hours later a tired and wrinkled looking Daniel walked into the waiting area with a big smile on his face.
“I’m a father! I have a daughter!”
Charlotte hugged her brother.
“Congratulations. What’s her name? Can we see her?”
“Her name is Amanda.. Mandy for short. The doctor said you can see them but not everyone at the same time. They need to rest.” Daniel said and turned to Nolan. “Nolan, do you want to come meet our daughter? Emily wants to ask you something.. well.. Emily and I both.. both of you.”
They followed Daniel into the room where Emily was lying in a bed smiling at the little bundle in her arms. Nolan couldn’t remember the last time he’d seen her genuinely happy like this. If ever.
“Hey Ems.” He said and kissed the top of her head. “Hi Amanda, welcome to the world, I’ll be one of the few sane people in your family.”
“She’s beautiful. Congratulations guys.” Patrick said and stroked the little girl’s cheek.
“Do you want to ask them or do you want me to do it?” Daniel asked Emily.
“I’ll do it.” She said and took Nolan’s hand with her free hand. “We talked about this and we want Amanda to have the best life possible if something happens to us.. We want you two to be her godparents.”
“We can put everything on paper if you want to.” Daniel suggested.
“We’d be honoured.” Nolan said and sat down on Emily’s bed. “Can I hold her for a minute?”
Emily handed the baby over to her best friend.
“I think she likes you.”
“Well I am very likeable.” Nolan told Amanda. “Just don’t ask your grandmother.”
“Speaking of which, Daniel I think we need to give these two a minute and check on mum and Charlotte.”
Daniel nodded and followed Patrick out the room.
“Nolan.. I need you to promise me something.” Emily said, suddenly very serious.
“Sure. Anything. What is it?”
“If anything happens to me.. anything at all.. I want you to take Amanda and get out of the Hamptons. Out of the country. Away from Victoria.”
“What about Daniel? And don’t you think she’ll come looking for us?”
“Make sure it’s legal. Make her yours. Make her a Ross. I know you know how.”
“But.. what.. what’s going on Ems?”
“Just promise me.”
“Ok.. But I hope I’ll never have to do it.”
Emily didn’t say anything, she just nodded and took the baby back from Nolan.
“She’s beautiful. Like her mother.” Nolan said and left the room.
“And? What is she like? Can I go see her?” Charlotte asked when Nolan walked back into the waiting area.
“She’s beautiful. Congratulations again Daniel.”
Daniel nodded and took his sister to see her new niece.
“Are you ok?” Patrick asked.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Babies just make me a little sentimental.”
Patrick smiled.
“Maybe one day we’ll have one of our own.”
“Yeah.. maybe. But let’s see how we do as godparents first.”
“Good plan.” Patrick agreed. “You know.. I was thinking.. if we’re going to be godparents.. we should make things official.”
“What? Official? What are you talking about?”
Patrick stood up from his chair and got down on one knee in front of Nolan, ignoring the gasp coming from his mother.
“Nolan Ross, you’ve made me happier than I ever thought I could be. You showed me life can actually be good.. and even though we haven’t known each other that long.. I know I want to share the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”
Nolan stared at his boyfriend in disbelief.
“You want to marry me?”
Patrick nodded.
“Charlotte has the ring I bought in her purse.. but I didn’t want to wait any longer. So.. what do you say?”
“I say yes.”
------
~6 months later~
“Are you nervous?” Emily asked as she straightened Nolan’s bowtie.
“A little. Is the wicked witch of the Hamptons here?”
“Of course. Daniel has Amanda so she’s watching him like a hawk.”
Nolan rolled his eyes.
“I love Patrick but sometimes I wish he wasn’t.. you know..”
“Victoria Grayson’s son?”
“Basically.”
“Let me deal with Victoria. You just enjoy your wedding day. It’s not that hard. Just say I do when someone asks you a question.”
“What do you know about getting married?” Nolan teased. “You’ve never been to a real wedding. Including your own.”
“That was close enough. I know how it’s done. Now get out there and get married.”
---
“If anyone can show just cause why this couple cannot be legally joined in marriage, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.” The minister said and both Emily and Charlotte warned Victoria to stay quiet.
She smiled a forced smile at the couple but didn’t say anything.
“Well then now we have the formalities out of the way, let’s move on to the good part.” The minister joked. “Can I have the rings please?”
Emily stood up and handed him the rings.
“Alright. Nolan you first. Nolan Ross, do you take Patrick Osbourne to be your husband? For better, for worse, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?”
Nolan smiled.
“I do.” He answered and slid Patrick’s ring on his finger.
“Patrick Osbourne, do you take Nolan Ross to be your husband - ”
“I do.” Patrick said, interrupting the minister.
Everyone laughed a little as he slowly slid Nolan’s ring on his finger.
“By the power vested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you married. Congratulations. You may kiss.”
Nolan cupped Patrick’s face and softly kissed him.
“We did it.”
“We did” Patrick agreed and kissed his husband. “This is the best day of my life.”
-----
7 years later.
“It’s strange being back here after all these years.” Nolan said, tracing the familiar pattern on the porch of the beach house.
“Bad strange?” Patrick asked his husband as he wrapped his arms around his waist.
“I don’t really know. It helps that Victoria Grayson is no longer queen of the Hamptons.”
“A lot has changed in the 6 years we’ve been away.”
Nolan nodded.
“We don’t have to spend the summer here. We can just go back home and figure something else out.” Patrick said when he noticed how uncomfortable Nolan was.
“No, no, no. We promised Mandy we’d take her to the beach for the summer. She’ll be upset if we leave.”
“There are more beaches than this one. And more houses we can stay in than the one your best friend used to live in. We could go to Hawaii and I could teach her how to surf.”
“Patrick she’s 7 years old! What kind of father are you?!” Nolan said, only half joking. “She’s way too young.”
“I started around that age too and I turned out alright.”
“And just for that reason, we’re staying here and we won’t go to Hawaii until she’s at least 16.”
Patrick laughed.
“I can teach her here too. We’ll rent a board and hit the waves.”
“Don’t you dare.”
“Papa, daddy look what I found! I think he likes me!” Amanda yelled at her parents as she walked onto the porch carrying a puppy. “He wants to live with us.”
“History repeats.” Nolan muttered under his breath before he knelt down in front of the girl. “I think he lives with someone else honey. Look, he’s wearing a collar and a tag.”
“Sorry he keeps running off, he likes the beach a little too much and this house is usually empty.” A familiar voice explained. “Nolan?”
“Jack, hi. Looks like our daughter is making friends with your dog.”
“Daughter?” Jack asked, looking from Nolan to the girl and back. “She’s yours?”
Nolan nodded.
“Mine and Patrick’s. Amanda come here for a second. Just let the puppy stand on its own legs ok?”
Amanda did as she was told and walked over to her dads. Patrick picked her up and wiped some sand from her face.
“Who are you?” She asked Jack.
“My name is Jack. I’m an old friend of your daddies.. and that’s my dog. His name is Jerry.” Jack told the girl.”What’s your name?”
“I’m Amanda Ross, I’m 7 and I have two daddies.” The girl said happily.
“Seven?” Jack asked and look at Nolan.
“Yeah I know, she looks older. She is almost 8 after all, aren’t you sweetie?”
Amanda nodded.
“We’re going to the beach. Papa promised. Right daddy?” She said and looked at Patrick.
“Yes he did.” Patrick agreed. “And he should hurry up or we’ll go without him.”
Amanda laughed.
“Yes!”
“Well, you heard the lady. Duty calls. Good to see you again, Jack.” Nolan said and followed his family down to the beach.
“Nolan, wait!” Jack called out and jogged to catch up with him.
“That’s Amanda Grayson. Emily’s daughter. She looks like her mother.”
“I know. But as far as Mandy knows, she’s our daughter and her name is Ross. It’s all legal. Patrick and I are her parents. Have been for a long time now.”
“Is Emily dead?”
Nolan shook his head.
“Does Carl still live with you? He’s about Mandy’s age right? Maybe they’ll become friends this summer.”
“Paaappaaaa!!! Come onnnn!!!” Amanda screamed at her father.
“Good to see you again Jack, we’ll catch up properly sometime but I have to go now. My daughter demands my presence at the beach.” Nolan said and jogged towards Amanda, chasing her to the water where Patrick was waiting.

“Nolan I have to go.” Patrick said, smiling, as he tried to untangle himself from his bed partner.
“No you don’t. You can just stay here. With me. I have nothing important to do today.” Nolan replied and grinned. “Well.. maybe just one thing.”
Patrick chuckled and stole a kiss before getting out of bed.
“Don’t say those things when I have to go to work.”
“You don’t have to go to work. You can work from home.”
“How am I supposed to sell art from your bed?”
“Sell it to me. I can buy it all and you can stay here with me as my very handsome love slave.”
“As tempting as that sounds, don’t you think people would get suspicious if they saw me at your house 24/7?” Patrick said as he turned on the shower.
“Maybe. But that might not be such a bad thing. I’m sick of hiding.. us.” Nolan sighed.
“I know. Me too. Though the sneaking into your house in the middle of the night is kind of exciting sometimes.”
“Although that is true.. I wish the women in our lives would bury the designer handbag hatchet and at least pretend to be civil to each other.”
“I’m not sure that’ll ever happen.” Patrick said and held out his hand as an invitation for Nolan to join him under the warm water. “But can we please stop talking about the latest developments in the soap opera that is the Hamptons? I’d like to enjoy this shower.. with you.. and I can’t do that if you keep talking about my mother.”
Nolan smiled.
“Consider the conversation over.” He said and decided Patrick’s lips would be of much better use on his.
----- “So, lunch this afternoon?” Nolan asked, as he watched Patrick tie his shoes.
“I can’t. I promised my mother I’d have lunch with her.”
“Queen Victoria strikes again.” Nolan mumbled.
“I heard that.” Patrick said laughingly.
“She’s ruining my love life and she doesn’t even know it. Which is probably a good thing since she would enjoy it too much if she knew.”
“She’s not that bad. I’m having lunch with her and Charlotte.”
“Ah a Grayson family lunch.”
“I’m not a Grayson.”
“Yet.”
“I don’t think Conrad would ever let me carry his name. Which I don’t even want. I’m perfectly happy being an Osbourne.”
“Or maybe one day a Ross. It is legal after all.”
“Maybe. Or maybe you’d be Nolan Osbourne.” Patrick said and kissed his boyfriend.
“Are we still on for tonight? If you don’t get summoned by the queen.”
“I’ll be here at 8. Not even Victoria can make me miss our 6 month anniversary.”
“Alright. But just so you know, I’m making you turn your phone off when you walk through that door tonight. And I’m starting without you if you’re late.”
“I won’t be late.” Patrick promised and left the house after quickly kissing Nolan again.
Nolan sighed and decided to make himself another cup of coffee before turning on his computer and dealing with the real world again.
“Did I just see Patrick Osbourne leaving your house?”
Nolan turned around and gave the woman he considered his best friend in the world his most loving smile.
“Hi Ems.”
“Was Patrick here? Are you ok? What did he want? Did Victoria send him?”
“Oh I’m more than ok. Coffee? Or shouldn’t you have caffeine because of the.. you know.. B-A-B-Y.” Nolan asked, patting his stomach.
“Nolan.. why was Patrick Osbourne here?” Emily asked again.
“Well.. you see Ems.. when two people like each other very much.. sometimes they like to show it in a special way.”
“You’re sleeping with him?!”
“Among other activities, yes.”
“You told me you ended it.”
“Yeah.. well.. I tried. But things.. sort of.. didn’t go according to plan.”
“How long?”
“What?”
“How long has this been going on?”
“Well.. uhm.. a while..”
“How long is a while Nolan?”
“Today is our 6 month anniversary.”
“Six months?! Are you insane? Nolan you don’t even know him! I can’t believe you lied to me.”
“I didn’t lie to you. I just.. I chose me, Ems. We’re good together.. him and me.”
Emily raised her eyebrow.
“You don’t know him. He’s Victoria Grayson’s son. You can’t trust him. Does Victoria even know?”
Nolan shrugged.
“There isn’t much queen Victoria doesn’t know.”
“She’s trying to get to me via you through him.”
“Now you’re just being paranoid. You’re carrying Grayson spawn and you’re married to her second favourite son. She’ll have to keep you around so she can meet her heir in 6 months.”
“Five. And it might not even be Daniel’s. Have you heard from Aiden?”
“I have been.. slightly.. preoccupied celebrating my anniversary.” Nolan said with a grin.
“This is not right.” Emily said and sat down. “You have to end it with him. He’s dangerous. You’ll get hurt.”
“I’m a big boy, Ems. I can look out for myself. Patrick is a good guy. I know him better than you think.”
“You know what he’s like in bed.”
“That too. But I know his story and he knows mine. We talk. It’s what two people in a normal relationship do.”
“He knows your story? What did you tell him?”
“As far as he knows you’re Emily Thorne who is madly in love with his half brother and carrying a Grayson heir.” Nolan said and sighed. “I’d never out you like that. You’re my best friend.”
Emily gave him a small smile and Nolan saw the stress and worry in her eyes.
“Patrick is a good guy, I promise. Don’t worry about me. I’m finally happy.”
“If he hurts you, I’ll kill him. Pregnant or not.”
------
“I stopped by your apartment this morning but you weren’t there.” Victoria said, giving her son a questioning look.
“Ah yeah I was at a friend’s place last night and it got kind of late so I just stayed over.” Patrick lied.
“A friend? I didn’t realise you had friends in this area.”
“You uhm.. maybe you should put your jacket back on.. ” Charlotte said, eyes on Patrick’s neck. “You have a uhm..something.. there..”
Patrick’s hand automatically went to the spot on his neck Charlotte was staring at and he mentally cursed Nolan for marking him in such a visible place.
“Oh.. uhm.. must be a mosquito bite. I get eaten alive by those bastards sometimes.”
Victoria smiled.
“ Sweetheart.. I know a mosquito bite when I see one and that is not it. Is there something you want to tell me? About your.. friend?”
Patrick looked like a deer caught in headlights.
“What.. what do you mean? It’s just a bug bite. No big deal.”
“Darling that is not a bug bite and we both know it. Did you meet someone?”
“What’s his name? Anyone we know?” Charlotte asked. “Please tell me it’s not one of Daniel’s friends.”
Patrick sighed in defeat.
“Alright, you’re right.. it’s not a bug bite and I wasn’t home this morning because I spent the night at my boyfriend’s place.. celebrating our 6 month anniversary.”
“Six months?!” Victoria exclaimed. “Why didn’t you tell me? Who is he?”
“We.. wanted to keep it to ourselves for a while.. it’s.. complicated.” Patrick said, trying to avoid having to actually tell his mother who exactly his boyfriend is.
“Well then, uncomplicated it. Tell me his name, maybe I know him.”
Patrick let out a nervous chuckle.
“Oh you know him alright..”
“I do?”
“It’s not Jack is it? I didn’t think he was into guys.” Charlotte said.
“Ah no. He’s not. Or well.. he might be. But I’m not talking about him.”
“Well who is it then? Tell me. Is it serious?”
Patrick nodded.
“Yes. Absolutely. He makes me happy.”
“That’s great but what is his name?” Charlotte asked, getting impatient.
“Well.. uhm.. he uh.. It’s Nolan. Nolan Ross.”
