i can picture matty telling ross to take care of her and kind of lowkey giving him his blessing without actually saying it outright, (ie she deserves to be happy, etc and then ross kind of being a father like figure to the girls and then it progresses).
You know, since you've obviously thought this through so profoundly, why not go on with that?
No, seriously. We know that Matty talked to Taylor about that, there's no way that he didn't with the others (George confirms that once, although it's with regard to the gigs btw). I don't know whether or not it happens so explicit but I know (and that's why it's canon) that Matty knows Taylor needs somebody around her. On the other hand...we're talking about the writer of "Somebody Else" here so I'm not quite sure how honest he was about that, actually. I can imagine him being quite torn (wanting her to be happy and knowing she needs somebody around for that vs. not really wanting her to move on from him in that department. And that's me not even factoring in the girls at this point.) in that point so I'm not that sure if he really would be so straight forward about it to Ross. Buuuuuutttt....you know...maybe he doesn't have to be...? Give me 2-3 more hours and we might be a step further in that department ;)
Wait, Ross & Taylor were supposed to be a thing in BMLAP in the now timeline at first?
Yesss.... *hides* That's why they were hanging out so much in the first few chapters. I was thinking about how they would connect through grieving but I was never really sure how (un)serious they were in the end. And halfway through the feeling that this would be too cringe dominated so I sort of just...silently swept it under the rug :D I do have an explanation for why they are particularly close for some time but I haven't written anything about it and I'm not sure if it's going to end up in the story. (Like I said: I suck at planning :D)
