hell yes replace . but. then you need a e28 or a roundie 2002 tailight for a desk lamp. It’s been done.
I have a pair of S54 headers I've wanted to make into a lamp for quite some time as well. And an E92 camshaft for something as well.

you need to fab up a full bmw dash of your choice for a space heater, hang it, and have heat blow through the vents.
I have an E60 M5 dash sitting in my room at my parents' house. I should use that.
