So, this was what utter bliss felt like.
Grayson had almost forgotten. No, he had forgotten. He had forgotten how to be happy and content. He had been focused on his work and nothing else in an attempt to ban the demons from his mind his ex-wife and lost child left there. He didn’t think he really lived anymore. He was breathing, functioning, but no more. But one day, a person walked into his life and swept him off his feet, turning his entire world upside down. He could still very vividly remember the moment he first lay eyes on Paige. And from then on, he’d been a goner for her. She caused his heart to beat faster, his skin to crawl with the need to be touched by her. He no longer survived a long shift by thinking about the next long shift, but by thinking about the opportunity to see her at the end of it.
And now, as he had taken a long weekend off his duties at the hospital, he had taken the opportunity to take them out of their town and away to the beach. One good thing about his job was that he not only got to save lives, but also had a decent paycheck, and he used that to buy them a fancy hotel room with a king size bed and a huge bathroom, filled with a whirlpool bathtub. It was his intention to treat her like a princess this weekend, in an attempt to finally pay her back for all the good she had done to him. They had just arrived, and he put down their bags on the floor as the door fell shut behind them. There was a smile on his lips -- the mere thought of having her all to himself the entire weekend bringing him pure happiness. “What do you think, my love?”
