Boy there are some bangers on here and some...well lol. I could say "The Apartment" which is arguably one of the best films ever made, one of my all-time faves, and one you've probably already seen. But will I? I was going to, but then I saw that Rush (2013) is also on that list for some serendipitous reason so that's my pick. A real solid Ron Howard joint, a charming Chris Hemsworth, and a completely SNUBBED Daniel Brühl my best friend Daniel Brühl. I remember being so mad that he only got a globe nom for this. Also a rocking soundtrack! Rush!!

7. a film released before 1970

Wow love how vague this is. But also a tad difficult because you've seen a lot of my go-to's that I recommend to people who want to get into "older" films! But fuck it, have you seen "Mad Love?" What a weird-ass film. Peter Lorre is a surgeon obsessed with an actress whose piano-playing husband loses his hands in an accident, so ol' Pete replaces them with the hands of a murderer! Because that's how things work. I say go for it.

yeah i got you! here’s a link. this is the one from my drive and i’ve tested it a few times and it doesn’t seem like it’s actually streamable when shared (rip) but you should be able to download it to your computer or drive and watch as long as you’ve got the space and the time.

had this thought randomly while scrolling HBO BUT have you seen grumpy old men/grumpier old men and if so what are your thoughts on the matthau-lemmon of it all

i have! i am a minnesotan by birth and it is essentially law here to watch it, but also it’s a movie my grandmother loved and everything she loved and shared with me has a special place in my heart.

i fucking love the matthau-lemmon pairing so much. i think i’m only missing a couple, but the odd couple is obviously superior with out to sea, grumpy, the front page, and the fortune cookie close behind.

something i think about a lot is what a lemmon-matthau mikey and nicky would have looked like. just a thought!

Is this B&N because 1) same, 2) our store deliberately had the least anything of all wrapping papers (like images of presents, literal stripes?) and people would still be like "eh, not sure that's good for a boy" sir these are yellow and white stripes these are not a gender

no it’s an indie store, these cis people shop local but it’s the same deal
