Images from the last week of stitch. 

I have found stitch enjoyable but very stressful. Being challenged to create more developed work. Most techniques I am familiar with, although using the heat press was new to me. I wanted to create plenty of texture so using wadding to pad out areas as well as reverse applique. I Have enjoyed this block very much and am pleased with the work produced.

Stitch week one.

My sketchbook work is quite illustrative so at first I found it a challenge to translate into my stitch work. These are the first two pieces that I created in stitch, after my first tutorial is was clear that I was rushing too much into creating final samples, without any previous experimentation. So in the later part of the week but mainly in the second week I created more varied samples, using a base sample and adding to it in different ways. (see next post)
