Here, ya'll. Have this WIP because it's been a year and there is a good chance that I'll never finish it QuQ It's directly from my cotl fic 'Rise of the Black Crown' and it's the convo leading up to the big boss fight. I really like how it was turning out but MAN! I spent DAYS on just what I've done here and I don't know if I've got it in me tbh

I just randomly stumbled upon rise of the bloodchemist on itch.io, played it, loved it so much, tried to find out if there is going to be any updates and found out there is a whole other game with mathias. can't wait to read that now and this whole blog. need them all.

Would you say there are differences to the sibling's personality to their AU counterparts? Or are they pretty much the same in that regard?

hmmmm. they might *feel* different, but IMO they're pretty much the same in the sense that they have the "same" bg story, morals, preferences (ghosts, wants, needs) but adapted to a vampire colony! xD

that apparent difference comes, i think, from the fact that the siblings are all a lot older in RotBC (a few centuries, give or take XD) and already managed to heal from the pain their father caused them (that part of the story didn't change), so they feel much more comfortable being themselves and exercising their power! ^^ the setting is also a bit different (i imagine a vampire court to be a lot more immediate in its dangers), so their behavior has to somewhat mirror that... but when writing, i make sure to always think "how would Mel/Mand/Matt act if...? and what would it take for them to...?"

that's why i like AUs so much! *-* ♥♥♥ it's such a fun character development exercise, plus it lets me have glimpses in the past/future/what-could've-beens that i wouldn't have otherwise! ♥

This will be chaotic, but Rise of the Bloodchemist is sooo good!!!! In ltgbtk I'm a ride-or-die Mathias romancer, but something made me choose Mand for my first playthrough of Bloodchemist and oh my dear... Mand's and Mat's shock is really delicious. I love how you write them, selfish and soft/calculated or sacrificial and impulsive (also soft, but you have to get the pickaxe to dig out this side of theirs), how they both hide their true colors when it comes to realtionship with the Draco/DC! I'm being fed figuratively and literally 😊

ALSO MAND'S PROTECTIVE SIDE, THEY WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME (heh????)!!!! Can't wait to see what problems did the Draco create for themself. Actually it is the first problem that the DC has ever created fully by their own doing!!! After being the martyr of Yvanson's my girl deserves to cause mayhem at least in one universe (((Mand is going to kill her)))
