C: School starts in less than two weeks, which means that ROTC starts. Now I enjoy the program, but I go to a PWI and so there are only 2 black people out of like 100. I already struggle with conversing with people, but I especially struggle with white people because most of them are so used to being around only white people so they act crazy when it comes to talking to black people. Also a lot of them in the program love to repeat slang that they probably heard in rap music. What I mean is in the GroupMe we have, this white boy was like “what’s up young bloods” and it rub me wrong because I’m like have you even at least drove through the ghetto, do you truly understand what a blood is!? Which I already know is a no, so please leave the “hood” talk to the hood. They also LOVE to whip and dab on the regular which is annoying as hell because 1) they don’t even look smooth doing it and 2) I already know that they probably aren’t even truly educated in black culture nor do they probably care about BLM, so I am constantly screaming internally for them to stop. At one point in the year I decided to give them a chance, but then they continuously just do corny shit that makes me remember why I didn’t fuck with them in the first place. I don’t know y'all, I’m thinking that it’s going to be another lonely ass year in ROTC.
