[ Finally getting this started! This run is a zombie challenge of my own making, played on Genemod. I'm hoping the game gives me lots of drama, but we'll have to see. The colorpoint cat with the bite is Airtuft. She's the previous deputy. The other cat is the former healer, Tussockstream. Refs for Palestar and Lichenkit are under the cut.

The style is done almost entirely with the polyline lasso tool, which is, of course, inspired by @jumalanpelko ! This is not a clangen story, but it's one of my favorite comics. Please read the content warnings if you check it out! (you may recognize me from my Slip Away - Suncat PMV on my other account @sunset-zephyr )

[This moon took days, even with shortcuts.

Anyway, welcome to the New-leaf gathering! The clans only hold gatherings once per season, usually on the second moon. Flareclan has not been to a gathering since the Rot broke out, which is over 2 years ago now. Until Palestar's run-in with Phloxclan a few moons ago, the other clans thought Flareclan had completely died out.

On moon 12, I rolled to see if anyone in the other clans was bitten. Chalkfrond and Nightpool from Phloxclan, as well as Dandielionbeak from Shatterclan, rolled poorly.

Since Sunfishstar is a butch bitch and has refused the advice to tie up Dandielionbeak, she may have just doomed her clan..

For clarification, Weevilfeather and Birch are not related; Birch just happened to wander onto the farm recently. HOWEVER, Weevil and Bumble are siblings. Their mother passed giving birth to Bumble.

Palestar usually sleeps in the Warriors' den, but he wanted to be alone in the Leader's den for a while :(

[I've been doing A LOT of research and watching videos in preparation for this moon. I wanted to portray it as accurately as possible.

Firstly, we see a process of creating a simple stone knife. The cream colored tools used are made out of shed deer antlers. They use a method of fire starting called 'Fire Plough'. I figured it looked easiest for a cat to do. They used a mixture of pine sap, charcoal, and water to glue the blade to the shaft. The handle is designed to be held in the mouth. I used this video as reference for the knife-making process.

Secondly, we see Palestar working on setting up two rabbit hides on tanning racks. He used a sharpened deer antler to poke the holes, and used a rough-sided rock to scrape off the meat from the hide. The hides will then be left to dry. I used this video and this video for the tanning steps.

This is not shown here because this moon was already a lot to draw, but they also dried and smoked the meat from the rabbits in order to preserve it.]
