Guess I should start actually posting on this site, here’s the sneak peek that I posted on twitter for Chapter 16 of SIL, get ready for a bunch of posts.

Mikey isn’t surprised to see that the scene inside of the temple is just as chaotic as the outside. Casey had commandeered a glaive and was hacking indiscriminately at any vine stupid enough to get close to her. April was at her back, whacking away any that Casey missed with a baseball bat enhanced with mystic energy. Splinter and Draxum were directly in front of the Ki-stone on opposite sides, deflecting any of those searching feelers that got too close.
Usagi’s friends are clearly no stranger to fights, and Mikey whistles impressively as he anchors himself to the rafters with his chains to get a literal birds-eye view of the fight below. Gen’s massive kanabo crushes the vines into indistinguishable mush, Kitsune throws her tessen with deadly accuracy, stopping many of the vines before they can even get close to the stone, and even with her injured shoulder Chizu was a force to be reckoned with as she pins vines to the wall with her shuriken and kicks away anything that gets to close to both her and Kitsune.
Mikey scans over the room, eyes narrowing as he notices a pattern. The vines weren’t making a real effort to get to the Ki-stone. As another round of vines undulates from below the floorboards he realizes that the vine’s weren’t attacking….
“They’re a distraction!” He shouts, dropping down from the ceiling like a rock as he sees the true target. One of the larger vines had been squirming its way underneath the Ki-stone, utilizing the now disused electrical service tunnel to crawl closer and closer to the stone.
Even with his warning, they’re not fast enough.
