the power xxxholic rou adayume has on me is so strong that this screenshot alone led me to rewatch it for the nth time.

*Warning Spoilers* for XxxHolic Rou (cage) Adayume.

Rou Adayume is a XxxHolic OVA that makes me cry.

For a while it's all cute and fluffy with Shopkeeper Watanuki walking around in Doumeki's dream, seeing things how Doumeki saw things.

It's interesting how all of Doumeki's dream seems to be centered around his memories of Watanuki -- just saying.

There's stuff from the anime scene from different angles. And Watanuki gets to reminisce. Ah good times were . . . loud times.

Watanuki gets to see things Doumeki's point of view.

He even gets to see the time he almost died.

But it turns out something vicious and deadly has targeted Doumeki through his dream and Shopkeeper Watanuki goes BAMF on it ass.

And Haruka explains

Wait? A turning point what could that possibly be?

And then the kicker at the end happens - and I weep tears of shipping pain.

That's right. It's a wedding invitation

Doumeki is going to marry Kohane . . .

And I begin to cry.
