Charred wood, lead shingles and molten glass are among the materials used by artist Anders Ruhwald to transform a vacant Detroit apartment building into a public art installation that acts as a memorial.

LA CASA DI MYRNA HAUWERT BY PAULINA ARCKLIN

La fotografa e stylist Paulina Arcklin, di cui adoro i lavori, ha ritratto la casa della interior disegner olandese Myrna Hauwert, titolare dello store Lilo’s, uno spazio incredibile dove sono stati raccolti 20 anni di oggetti provenienti da viaggi in tutto il mondo.

Oltre all’incredibile styling, i protagonisti degli spazi sono i colori che sono stati usati per rinnovare gli ambienti, dal bianco al grigio antracite, e che rendono la casa estremamente originale pur nella semplicità delle finiture. Le vernici usate sono dell'Authentique (stupendi i colori cemento e gesso) che offre un’offerta molto ampia di soluzioni sia per superfici interne che esterne, perfetti per dare un twist sofisticato agli ambienti shabby chic o comunque dove oggetti di design sono mescolati a pezzi vintage e di recupero.

G-ROUGH HOTEL IN ROME, ANOTHER HIT BY THE PALAZZINA GRASSI DUO

Gabriele Salini and the late Emanuele Garosci, the duo behind Venice’s glam Palazzina G, has created the G-Rough hotel in Rome, another recent cool addition to the ‘rough luxe’ aesthetic movement (which I love so much). 

Each floor is inspired by a renowned Italian designer: Giò Ponti, Ico Parisi, Silvio Cavatorta, Paolo Venini, Guglielmo Ulrich, Osvaldo Borsani, Archimede Seguso, featuring original furniture ranging from the 40ies to the 70ies.
