everyone around me is losing their goddamn minds and is gonna be hella depressed at work tomorrow
rip
i was, in theory, pulling for nashville to do well generally bc i like pk and our pal kyle got traded there, but... if i had to choose i’d choose winnipeg. go jets.
whenever you start talking about MSR/shipping, i remember my linguistics of social media class from college. there was an entire chapter about what 'shipping' meant and how TXF started it and i was like the "class expert" on fandom in general and i was so blessed to be in that class
i love thinking about how mulder and scully legit invented the slowburn as we know it and how they’re the Original ship
Sometimes all it takes is one really good memory to overshadow the ghosts of the past.
Everyone has their own headcannon as to how The Doctor and Rose’s relationship might progress after JE. Mine of course is they will be together forever no matter what. (He Is The Doctor Damn It!) Some stories involve them accepting one another right away while in others they may have a few obstacles to come through first. Personally, I like both options if they’re handled well. (IE: No cheating or dying or winding up with someone else. Nope Nope Nope)
This fic does begin more on the angsty side. Rose is of course struggling to accept The Doctor while The Doctor is coming to terms with being part human now.
Fluff. Fluff. Fluff. Talking things out can do wonders for a relationship. Watching them move past their insecurities together is always a big plus for me.
And to top of this little gem of a fic, The Doctor and Rose both make good use of a certain White Wall that has haunted their dreams since they were separated by making some very nice, ahem, positive memories up against it.
Definitely well worth the read and will have you thinking a little more fondly of that terrible wall too.
@roughhewnends replied to your post “okay friends, i want to try something. i’m gonna take a couple of...”
I low key ship CJ/Carol in TWW idk if you'd be down for that....
Carol only gave a token protest as CJ dragged her out of the cab they were sharing and up to her apartment for another drink. She never needed much convincing, not when she was so irrevocably caught up in the other woman’s orbit.
They shared another couple of drinks, dancing right on that line between tipsy and drunk as they swapped stories from college. It was nice, Carol thought, to spend time with CJ as a friend instead of as her assistant.
She was a little stuck on staring at CJ’s lips and the way they were glistening a bit from whatever she was drinking now and didn’t register the fact that those lips were moving closer until they were suddenly covering her own in a gentle, insistent kiss.
Carol was a little too shocked to respond at first but when CJ rested her hand on her cheek and pulled back a little, Carol regained herself enough to follow and initiate a kiss of her own.
“Take it this is okay, then?” CJ said into the space between them when they broke for a breath.
“Thought that would be obvious,” Carol answered with a small laugh. “Figured you’d known about my crush for ages.”
CJ’s brows pulled together as she visibly tried to conjure proof of such of a thing in her memory. “Why am I always the last to know?” she demanded.
“Plausible deniability?”
“I hate when you make sense.”
“No, you don’t.”
They were silent for a minute, both taking a few sips of their drinks and figuring out where to go next.
“Why now? And why, just in general?” Carol finally asked.
“Well, you’re always telling me to get a life outside of work,” CJ said. She gestured around her apartment. “We’re outside work and living life. Plus I couldn’t let Josh corner the market in pining after an assistant.”
“I don’t think I count as having a life outside of work since we work together, CJ,” Carol said, ignoring the remark about Josh and Donna for now. She’d have to let CJ in on the betting pool about those two soon.
“Totally counts.” She punctuated her declaration with another kiss. She pulled back after a minute with a speculative look on her face. “You know, if you and Donna switched jobs, neither Josh or I would be breaking any rules.”
Carol tugged on CJ’s hair, which she had a fistful of. “Don’t even think about it. Donna’s the only one who can deal with that man and stay relatively sane.” She leaned forward to mouth her way across CJ’s sharp jawline like she’d always imagined. “Now stop talking about our friends and kiss me some more.”
“Yes ma’am,” CJ replied breathlessly before doing just that.
roughhewnends replied to your post:the lack of jessica and luke shippers on this site...
some days im like ‘THEY HAVE TO GET BACK TOGETHER THEY HAVE A KID’ but im also like 'the canon of comics means basically nothing :(’
comics canon means nothing in the face of having 4 separate netflix properties that are not allowed to intersect in order to create maximum revenue, p much. it’s so frustrating bc in another world luke and jessica share their own spinoff series post-defenders.
jessica just being Forever Alone instead of getting the recovery she deserves aklsghalwt
catch me pairing the spares of matt/jessica as hard as i can tho lmao
