It started off a routine day I got through the morning in the usual way I caught the bus on time Good morning, Mr. Driver, drive As I sat inside my overcoat I clutched my cane And pressed my nose against the foggy window pane Ho hum The life I lead would even make a dead man yawn Midday comes I break for lunch With my sandwich and a beer I go on a hunch To the park where I hope to find A little bit of peace of mind As I sat there on a bench amidst the rodent race I felt a strange sensation that without a trace appeared But then as quickly disappeared again So tell me what's the bloody point of playing the game With so much to lose yet so little to gain You sell your life away Can't you see you're just a cog working like a dog You trade your future for a dead-end job That's full of routine days Routine days I race the clock to the end of my day The paycheck in my pocket makes me feel okay But was it worth the grind Just to keep from falling behind I stand here in the queue behind a foul cigar My face discreetly buried in a book on Mars Humdrum And I'm waiting on the pier 'til Charon comes
Day 23 - Your day…in great detail.
Woke up. Looked at clock. Went back to sleep. Woke up again. Sat up in bed. Turned on TV. Watched 45 minutes of Law and Order: SVU. Philosophically pondered the correlation between many things in the universe. Got out of bed. Showered. Brushed my teeth. Ironed my clothes. Philosophically pondered whether or not Sun Chips and Ginger Ale would make a decent breakfast or not. Dressed. Sat in living room waiting for family to leave for sister's graduation ceremony. Continued to wait for family. Left house. Got on expressway (traffic jam). Was informed that something was left behind and returned home. Left home. Got back on expressway expecting better traffic (didn't learn my lesson). Got out of expressway and took side streets. Drove to Holy Trinity (though the ceremony was at St. Stanislaus Krokta Church). Sat around waiting for ceremony. Took photos of sister receiving diploma (very proud). Proceeded to mingle with the after-graduation crowd. Went home. Talked to Beck. Delivered food to church for dinner. Was informed that something was left behind and returned home (didn't learn my lesson). Returned to church. Was informed that something else was left behind (ridiculous). Finally ate dinner. Cleaned up church. Returned home with family. Played with my little cousins. Teased and was teased by family. About to pick up my cousin was the train station. Am tired out.
Tonight.
As you can see from my useless posts, I just watched the Adjustment Bureau and if you haven't watched it yet, I suggest you do because it is a great fuckin movie. Other than the movie, I had a fairly normal day. Boring, tiring, and routine as usual. Brittany makes it tolerable though :) Anywho, waitin up on tomorrow. Back in the studio for more work on the music! And that is all for today folks. Peace the fuck out.
ps. I still think about the roadtrips.
