The bloody milk cap (Lactarius sanguifluus) mushroom, called rovelló in Catalan, is the most popular mushroom in Catalonia and Andorra. It’s easy to find in the forests of many parts of the country, and people love to go mushroom hunting.
Rovellons are part of many traditional Catalan dishes, ranging from elaborate recipes like stews to simply grilling them with a bit of garlic, parsley and salt.
