"Because it's bullshit. They get all of their history wrong, first of all. Second, they teach that every woman's story is centered around a man. Even with Brave, the motivating source was avoiding an arranged marriage: male dominance. Never do we see a woman's story that is just based on a woman without any romance attached, as compared to, I don't know, How to Train Your Dragon. That's bullshit. Third, the majority of the time women are seen as passive, helpless creatures that need a man to take over. There's no way Belle could have become a princess if she didn't have the Beast there to move her up the social ladder. Let's not even talk about the moral of the story that even though she's in a toxic relationship, if she waits long enough he'll have a character change. I call that teaching girls while they're in diapers that in men treat them like shit, they should put up with it. And what would happen to Sleeping Beauty without her prince? She'd be stuck asleep forever.

I refuse to believe that women have the usefulness of Christmas trees - that is, they're pretty and give bundles of joy from time to time - and I will not support an industry targeted at future generations that so blatantly prescribes this backward view.
