For starters, Season 1 is still really good for introducing the Freemakers and, of course, Naare. The developments were a little slow in the first half, but it got better as the plot kept moving forward. The season was really funny for both inserting some meta-humor to making fun of Star Wars canon. But what makes season 2 stand out from season 1 is the improvements in animation, drama, action, and most importantly... character development.
As we all know, season 2 gave us the Arrowhead, a ship that can literally slice and dice a ship in half which became the main plot. To start, the animation is cinematography worth with lighting, shading, background, and fight scenes getting improvements. As for the drama, holy shit was there a ton of that. For 13 episodes, you would think you would only get a little drama since it is a kids' show, but no, you get more than that, you get emotional and serious moments that bring you to the edge of your seat. Now we go to action and let me tell you, this season slayed when it came to action. For starters, the duels between Rowan and MOC were actually good even though MOC had all those weapons, but he was no match for Rowan. The space battles felt like real Star Wars canon fights with your typical Rebels vs Empire. Finally, there's character development, and in my opinion, this was the heart of season 2. For starters, the dynamics (I am referring to the big ones) were interesting and really showcased the Freemakers' growth since season 1. For instance, Rowan completely changed and started to mature when he was 12 and a half. The many dynamics he went through both with secondary characters and the Empire really helped shape his perspective with the Arrowhead and trying to find his purpose. The others also gained some development such as Kordi getting a larger role in the Rebellion by working in the strategy council to Zander getting his dream of flying with the fleet thanks to Valeria. Roger is still the same because there's nothing to change with him... he's perfect.
That pretty much sums up why season 2 of the Freemaker Adventures has more development than season 1.
Dark Side calls you.
Decided to draw a little fanart for my AU, because I still like it a lot. It's kinda important for me since the fanfic I wrote for it was the first fanfic I ever uploaded online. I'm still very proud of myself that I managed to come out of my comfort zone! And I'm still extremely grateful for everyone who read this story! :>
For anyone curious who didn't read the fanfic, but wants to, here's the link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/43882089/chapters/110333634
Ok! So this might be a long post. But I'm going to attempt to unpack all the trauma that all characters from the Freemaker Adventures have experienced within the show. (All Stars will be included!)
Anyhow, lets begin! :)
.
.
.
First are the minor traumas that side characters have:
1. Durpin and Plumstriker: ranking up within the empire and failing Vader
2. Estoc: failing to get a perfect record of prisoners
3. Maynar: loosing people close to her
4. That one imperial officer in "A Perilous Rescue": the Arrowhead
5. Quarrie: fear of flying starships and possible isolation issues
6. Ymojin: loss of her husband (headcanon: he probably died when the empire attempted to attack the village once)
7. Biz and Elan: outside people and those with the force (prior to the Freemakers arriving)
8. Kapao???: not sure, but headcanon that his parents probably abandoned him and then Moxie found him and took him in
9. Raam and Baash: probably got left behind by their last boss (before joining Graballa)
10. Wick Cooper: not getting what he wants (also headcanon: since he came from a rich background, he was probably disowned by his parents a lot of the time which explains why he talks so rudely to the Freemakers and also, those who are part of the rebellion)
11. Yeppau: being thrown/sacrificed by Graballa while holding the sign that promotes Graballa's beach resort and buffet
12. Attiburra: being separated from his son (before the Freemakers arrived and gave him hope)
13. Tantarra: being held captive and missing his family (once again, before the Fam came)
14. Furlac: not getting paid and losing profit for being a landlord
Now...Let's get serious
.
.
.
.
It's time for the major traumas, and these will be more deep then the minor ones. Anyhow, lets begin! :)
1. Baird Kantoo: Yeah, I'm starting with the jedi who made the Kyber Saber. Though he doesn't get much screen time in the show, I can at least acknowledge his trauma which is the kyber saber being a destructive weapon that can manipulate others with its powers (slices a whole moon in half btw). He also probably went into isolation because of what he did.
2. Valeria: the badass rebellion pilot. Love her energy and interactions with Zander. But going with the theme, it has to be war and fighting for peace. (I also headcanon that she is hiding something depression that happened with her past that either involved her parent dying or one of her closest friends in the rebellion) THIS IS EXCLUDING the summer vacation special btw.
3. Becky: Zander's wife and let me say, her introduction was amazing with working with the empire attempted first to finding out that her crush also had feelings for her (love that kissing scene btw). Anyway, I have a feeling her trauma is whatever motivated her to join the empire. I know Zander had nothing to do with it, but it probably had something to do with her parents. (My headcanon is that her parents are strict politicians and force her to follow their plans for her to join the empire. Becky would tend to feel really emotional due to her parents restricting her decisions, but that was until she decided to live on her own on the wheel, but still has flashbacks from the many times her parents have disowned her as their daughter)
4. Pace: the loving father of the kids and an amazing husband to Lena. He has an optimistic personality, and even though he can get nervous at times when making decisions, he always comes through in the end. Sticking with the theme, my personal take on his trauma is that he has trusting issues and gets really anxious when it comes to money. (I also headcanon that when he first started Freemaker Salvage and Repair, he struggled the first week with promoting the shop and making sales, which led to him having constant anxiety attacks. But Lena was there to comfort him and remind him that it was just a slump)
5. Lena: the amazing mother of the kids. She's the one who started doing con-artist schemes, which was eventually passed down to her children, and that is so cool! But one thing she definitely has trauma from is having bad experiences with partners. As seen in All Stars, her partner betrayed her and turned her over to the empire which was messed up + she was also hesitant about teaming up with Pace at first because of her bad experiences and not wanting to re-live them again.
6. Graballa: The gangster Hutt who's obsessed with opening his own beach resort. Love his comedic chaotic energy! But his trauma has to be a mix of not getting the respect he deserves to try to one up Jabba in any way he can. (I headcanon that his parents were probably the ones who told Graballa about his cousin's success and how Graballa himself would never succeed with making money and starting his own business. This led to Graballa wanting to open a resort so that he could prove to his parents and Jabba that he could make a fortune)
7. MO-C: OK. This B*tch. For starters, never liked this Droid. Did not like him abusing my boy and just being a killer Droid. I get that it's his programming and that he was created by Palpy, but he was only seen as a tool. However, he's only on this list because of him committing su*cide on the death star after he witnessed his master fall to his death. Then there's him losing his parts, but he doesn't care about them as much. (I could talk more about how much I despise this Droid, but that's for a future post)
8. Naare: The first villan of the show, and let me just say, she is 100% better than MO-C and could easily beat him in a dual. Secondly, love this woman and her dynamic with the Freemakers and how they depicted her as a jedi before being revealed to be a sith. Anyhow, her trauma highly likely comes from her past, and Palpy and Vader treat Naare like sh*t and have probably abused her here and there. (My personal headcanon is that her old jedi master abandoned her when she was a Padawan, and this caused her to feel a lot of rage, which then drew her to taking the path towards sith hood. She was then trained by Vader, and he was impressed by her progression that he made her his second-rank sith. Prior to meeting Rowan and discovering the Kyber Saber, she was given different missions by her masters to prove that she was ready to take on a bigger mission. Naare only failed a few times, which led to Vader sometimes force choking for her failures, but is then forgiven by Palpy since he has a soft spot for her. From there, Naare pushed her limits to please her masters even if it meant manipulating a twelve year old.)

Ok! Here we are with the family! I saved them for last because they obviously have the most trauma out of anyone in this post. For this reason, I am separating the traumas between seasons 1 and 2 since they hit different and/or connect with each other. Alright, let's begin! :)
.
.
9. Roger: First up is the loveable battle Droid that has been with this family from the start. He is the compassionate one and is known for being a veteran of the Clone Wars.
-Season 1: There's not much to say with the first season except that Roger has trauma with the jedi and losing his best friend. He's been through so much, and he's mentioned it over and over. Then there's the whole keeping Rowan safe thing that gives Roger panic attacks most of the time, but not as bad as Kordi's, but I will touch upon that when I get to her.
-Season 2: Since this season focused on the Arrowhead and the second death star, Roger didn't get a lot or attention, however most of his trauma came from the last 4 episodes with Rowan being captured to literally sacrificing himself in the core of the second death star which gave Roger a heart attack.
10. Zander: Moving on, we have the hot shot piolet who loves to fly and build Z-wings. I love Zander's energy throughout the show and the fact that he has a passion for star ships plus got to be with the girl of his dreams!
-Season 1: Zander has had his ups and downs throughout the beginning of the show, such as prioritizing Z-wings over family to keep Rowan and Kordi out of trouble. Though he is the older brother, he does have a lot of responsibilities, which brings me to his trauma, which is trying to carry out his father's legacy while keeping his family safe. Zander had gone through some stress about how the shop should be run and the number of unique uglies he can build at the same time to make a profit. (I headcanon that one point, Zander put himself in isolation for a few days in the shop, drawing out uglies in the shop that he feels as though he will sell. Kordi and Rowan would be concerned about Zander's health and make sure that he's eating and drinking while focusing on designing ships.)
-Season 2: Once again, since this season focused on the Arrowhead and the Rebellion, Zander didn't get a lot of attention, but he was still itching to be a piolet for the rebellion which he achieved. But the one thing that impacted him the most was almost losing Rowan at the second death star. He did plead with Rowan not to go alone and that they were in this together, but Rowan refused and went anyways, leaving him in emotional shock.
11. Kordi: The woman who loves money and yelling at anyone. She is loyal to her family and is there as a moral guide to her brothers, especially Rowan. I've always loved the girl power that she brought in this show, and that fact she doesn't back down in a fight.
-Season 1: First off, Kordi went through a lot and I mean a lot of stress with running the shop and focusing on profits. I mean girl did not get a break which leads to her trauma. I think her trauma is letting her parents down since the shop was passed down to her and her siblings. Throughout the beginning of the show, she never wanted to get involved with galactic wars and wanted to stay as a neutral party, but that changed with the kyber saber. (I headcanon that before the kyber saber, she focused on keeping her siblings isolated within the wheel so that they don't get themselves hurt. She would especially keep her eye on Rowan since he loved going on adventures and wanted to explore space. She would get stressed out to the point where she would get a headache and drink around 5 cups of Caf a day.) Girl needs therapy!
-Season 2: For starters, Kordi's stress dropped a lot within this season, and she was able to feel confident with herself. However, she did suffer one specific trauma, almost losing Rowan. I will continue to say this again, but the last 4 episodes hit hard with non-stop action and drama. But what hit was Rowan sacrificing himself on the second death star. Kordi was so furious and concerned about Rowan's choice. (My headcanon for this would be that after that incident, Kordi broke down into tears and started to feel like she almost lost her little brother despite being alive in the end. She started experiencing hallucinations as a result, but soon got over it when Rowan told her that everything was OK and that he was here for her.)
12. Rowan: OK! So I thought I would end this list with my boy since he's the main character of the show and has experienced the most trauma out of anyone, especially for a 12 year old. For starters, I've always loved Rowan from the start, and he's always been my favorite character. I love his sense of adventure and wanting to explore different planets with a sense of curiosity, which is something I can relate to.
-Season 1: So Rowan's trauma in this season doesn't start til after Naare reveals that she is a sith that breaks his heart. Throughout the second half, Rowan felt deviated and not even special after his first master turned out to be evil. Even though he got over it little by little, he was still concerned with the protection of the Kyber Saber and making sure the emperor didn't get his hands on it. (I headcanon that after destroying the kyber saber, Rowan would have nightmares about Naare with the kyber saber and getting close to killing him to him listening to Palpy's words about killing Naare which he did and deciding to abandon his family to become a sith. Rowan would then wake up, and tears would shed down his face, and he would feel shaken up. Thankfully, Zander and Kordi would be there and hug him tightly to make sure that he's ok.)
-Season 2: OK. This season. For starters, Rowan's development was impressive, and that fact that he was the one who created the Arrowhead. However, he suffered a couple of traumas that he didn't get a break from. First up is his doubts about the Arrowhead and making sure that the emperor doesn't get his hands on it. Second has to be what Vader did to him by exposing his fear of failure along with being pressured to reveal the location of the kyber crystals. Geez, this whole scene traumatized me with the fact that Vader not only abused him by throwing him to the ground but also with f**king torture! I mean, this not only traumatized Rowan for the rest of the season but also made him suffer pain and doubts. (I also headcanon that whenever Rowan sees a star map, he gets flashbacks about that Vader did and he starts to experience headaches as a result.) I'm hoping to go into a deeper analysis with this scene down the line. Anyhow, the last trauma was for sure going to the second death star core to stop MO-C once and for all. Rowan knew he had to do since he felt the other kyber crystal and knew he had to get it back. The fact that he left his loved ones and went alone was crazy knowing they were going to be worried about him. After the Droid died, I kid you not, Rowan really went through depression and anxiety knowing that he was going to die on the death star. (I also headcanon that Rowan started to experience flashbacks and memories of the happy times he had with his siblings, which led him to break down and tears and having trouble controlling his emotions. That was until he saw the star scavenger, and he felt relieved that he was safe.)
Insert random headcanon: The Freemaker fam celebrates Christmas/ life day and do a lot of traditions such as going sledding on Hoth, visiting Kashyk to see prince Tantara, doing a gingerbread building contest at the wheel, having dinner together while praying for their parents after their disappearance, and spending some quality time together without a lot of chaos! :)
Zander and Becky have been engaged for some time and have been thinking about getting married. "Hey babe, do you think we are going to have a wedding at some point?" asked Becky. Zander replied with, "Of course baby! But we should have Kordi, Rowan, and Roger help with the planning." Becky responded, "Ok!" The two then walked over to the other three freemakers and asked them about their thoughts about the wedding.
Zander then asked his siblings about their thoughts on having a wedding. Kordi's response was, "I think you two having a wedding is a great idea, but we need to consider our money, as I don't want to spend too much. We also need to decide where we're doing it and who's coming." Zander then replied back with, "Of course, sis! How about you be our wedding planner?"
Rowan then looked over with curiosity, wondering what they're talking about. He then walked over to his older brother and asked, "What are you and Kordi talking about? An adventure?" Zander then looked over at Rowan and said back, "Not quite, we were actually talking about Becky and I's wedding.
Rowan's eyes opened with excitement as he learned that his brother was going to marry the girl of his dreams. He then responded to this with, "I can't believe you are going to marry her! Is there anything I can do to help?" he said while hyperventilating.
Zander thought long and hard about what he wanted his younger brother to do, and he decided that he would be the ring bearer. "Now, Rowan, you have a very important job. I would like you to be our ring bearer, meaning that you hand us our rings so that we can seal our love." Rowan, who was paying attention to every detail and not getting himself distracted like he usually does, responded with, "Don't worry, I'll be really careful with the rings. I'm just excited that you are getting married!" Zander then responded with, "I know, little brother. I'm excited too!"
Kordi then ran over to his brother and said, "It took some planning, and I talked it over with Becky, and I think we have the perfect plan. Firstly, we are having the wedding here, at the Wheel, since it's our shop. Secondly, I was able to make some calls, and I got some people coming to the wedding, and I was able to get in touch with Becky's parents, who said that they would love to meet the man that their daughter is marrying. Finally, I was able to get our decorations in order, and I think we are all set." Zander was surprised that his sister had everything planned out, but was also proud of her for always being by his side...especially when their parents disappeared.
"Sis. Thank you for always supporting me when I need you. You've always been the stronghold of this family, and you are the reason why we are one big happy family. I love you." Zander felt a tear streaming down his face, and Kordi looked over and hugged his brother. "Come on, don't be mushy with me. You know I've always been there for both you and Rowan, and I love you both. I know I can be a pain sometimes, but that's because I care about you guys and especially your girlfriend. I want her to be with us, the Freemakers. Trust me when I say this, but you and Becky are going to have the best time of your lives as a married couple, and I want you to remember that. "A tear started shedding down Kordi's face.
"Now, shall we get this wedding started?" Asked Kordi. Zander then looked at her and replied, "Yeah, let's get this wedding going!"
A few hours later and everything was set. The Wheel looked decked out and also crowded with so many people. Zander was standing in front of the aisle wearing a short-sleeved tuxedo while Kordi was standing next to him, and she was wearing the same dress she wore when she had to go to that auction in Mygeto. Rowan, who was standing next to his sister, was holding the rings and was also wearing a tuxedo. Then there was Roger, who was wearing a bowtie and was standing in the center as he was chosen to read the vows since he's been with the Freemakers from the start.
Becky then walked slowly down the aisle wearing a long wedding dress. When Zander saw his soon-to-be wife walk down the aisle, his jaw dropped. When Becky made it to the center, her and Zander held hands awaiting Roger to commence the ceremony.
"Greetings everyone, thank you for attending this momentous occasion, it is what great honor that I bring these two love birds together forever." Roger nodded at Rowan, who then brought the rings for Zander and Becky.
"Now, Zander, do you take Becky to be your forever wife?" Zander replied with, "I do." "Becky, do you take Zander to be your forever husband?" Becky replied with, "I do." They then placed the rings onto each other's fingers.
"With the powers vested in me, I now pronounce you Freemaker and Freemaker, you may kiss the bride." Without hesitation, Zander brought his new wife closer in and they embraced with a kiss. Kordi put her hand on Rowan's shoulders as they both pulled each other closer.
After some time had passed by and some pictures had been taken, Becky saw her parents and asked if she could live with her new family forever, and they said yes and gave her a hug.
Becky then looked over at her new family, and Zander had his arms wide open. "Come here, baby, you're one of us now." Becky then ran over to her new family, and they gave her one big hug in the end.
***Notes****
This was my first fanfiction, so obviously, I might have dragged some scenes for a little too long, but I really wanted to captivate and envision what Zander and Becky's wedding would be like since All Stars didn't do it. Constructive criticism is welcomed
Spoilers for those who haven't seen Rebuild The Galaxy yet!!!
Holy crap! They mentioned Alistan Nor and they gave us the backstory and then at end, when Sig and jedi Bob decide to go there to train and they mentioned that their are possibly more force builders there! They literally just confirmed the whole Rowan theory thing, like WTF!?
