Not that I can think of? That might go back to me not reading fanfiction though, unless there are memes about something I’m not consciously aware of a trope.
Readers? Do I keep going back to any particular tropes? Giving Cassian a sense of humor isn’t a trope, I fully acknowledge his intelligence and strength.
Z: Major Character Death- do I ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death I can’t tolerate?
People might take this as a spoiler for TSON, but this has been my rule of writing ever since the very beginning (that SPN fic I forgot existed):: I write to expand on canon, not cross it out entirely. I will never kill a canon character in any fic.
I consider writing fanfiction like playing with someone else’s toys. I always put them back neatly and exactly how I found them (minus any emotional changes as part of the story arc).
My goal with fics is to make them read like something the author would write and present plausible scenarios that maybe did happen off-page, but they aren’t strikingly OOC or jar with current canon. I know I still have a lot of work to do on growing as a writer before I’m anywhere near professional quality, but I hope I manage to reach that goal at least *some* of the time :)
